Welcome to the November edition of your 1JS newsletter. First things first, we know that you enjoyed the tours, it was clear to see on the day! BUILDING UPDATE
Preparations are significantly advanced now, with about four weeks to go before the building is handed over to American Express from the contractors it is a hive of activity with final installations, snagging and business systems testing.
SECURITY PASS UPDATE
To all the Move Coordinators - you must be very pleased that your efforts have paid off. Security are now managing this as BAU. This means that employees/contractors need to go to the Security Processing Office on the 1st Floor AmEx House to request a form and appointment.

Ground Floor - Costa Coffee ShopThe shop will operate from 7.00am to 19.00pm. Products include subsidised bus tickets, newspapers, magazines, cards and confectionery. In addition there is an extensive range of sandwiches, rolls, wraps, porridge pots, drinks, dairy produce, snacks and fruits.

Sussex resident Ernest Vye picked up a leaflet from a Health Squad member at a Seagulls match that inspired him to go to his doctor, where he was diagnosed with bowel cancer. A SPECTACULAR INSTALLATION THAT WILL BE KNOWN AS THE NORTH STAND MEMORY WALL IS BEING INSTALLED IN THE AMERICAN EXPRESS COMMUNITY STADIUM. THE OFFICIAL DESIGNERS, CORRIDOR, ARE COLLECTING SPORTING MEMORABILA AND MEMORIES OF BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION SINCE THE CLUBS FIRST GAME IN 1901. THE INSTALLATION WILL FEATURE YOUR STORIES AND IMAGES SPANNING THE CLUBS HISTORY.

In the North Stand during the Leyton Orient game, 8 March 1997. The game ended with a 4-4 draw. I had no idea who they were at the time.We have since met and become good friends and now go to Brighton games together.

A spectacular installation that will be known as the North Stand Memory Wall is being designed for the American Express Community Stadium.
The official designers, Corridor, are collecting sporting memorabilia and memories of Brighton & Hove Albion since the Clubs first game in 1897.
The installation will feature your stories, images and memorabilia spanning the Clubs history. If you have something of interest that you would like to contribute for the North Stand Memory Wall, please place your submission - a story, a photo of a special memory,
or a photocopy of an item of memorabilia - in an envelope into the Amex Stadium postbox by 31 March 2011, clearly marking your name, email, telephone number and mail code.
Please include a brief story with any photo, piece of memorabilia or artefact you are sending, and dont forget your contact details so that we can get in touch with you.
We look forward to hearing your stories.

Whats it about? We are setting up a number of one-day Masterclasses to be delivered in July 2011, for pupils in years 9 & 10 (age 13-15) from local secondary schools to develop their own business skills. As a Volunteer Business Advisor, you will help to present, support and deliver a day of engaging

enterprise challenges to pupils, focusing on increasing their understanding of aspects of the business world. The programme and learning materials are all mapped out and provided for you; you just need to lend your own experience, examples and enthusiasm to deliver the materials and games and bring the course and the world of business - to life.
What training and time commitment will it involve? The staff training/induction will take 2 hours. The Masterclass session is one days commitment. The training and the Masterclass will be held either at Withdean Stadium, Amex House or the American Express Community Stadium.
The induction for American Express staff will include Enhanced CRB Checks which must be successfully completed in advance of the Masterclasses.

SERVICE DESK PROFESSIONAL ONEA highly interactive two day course geared at frontline service providers. This course covers a range of service giving techniques and practices. Brilliant as an introduction for new starters or as a refresher for more experienced staff. Attendees can take our Certificate in Service Desk Skills at no extra charge. 695 (+VAT) or 2 Training Credits per person.
SERVICE DESK PROFESSIONAL TWOA one day course aimed at more experienced Service Desk staff. Covering topics such as getting new starters up to speed, coaching skills, project work, dealing with staleness and standing out for the right reasons. What is it?You may have a great Service Desk, but if other support staff lack service giving skills - the customer may still receive poor service. This one day onsite course covers the main challenges of providing consistently good service.
Who is it for?Suitable for all service and support providing staff. Whilst we specialise in IT, we have run this day many times for non IT clients.
The Day?The day can be tailored to suit the client. We will gather background information and aim to create a targeted programme. Typical topics include Service, Dealing with Problems, Listening Skills, Assertiveness, Dealing with Customers and Teamwork. The day can be ITIL compatible using appropriate terminology.
The Cost?A standard fee of 1475 (+VAT) or 5 Training Credits. This is to run the day, for up to 8 attendees, at your premises. This includes all expenses - there are no extras.

Situated on a beautiful farm overlooking stunning countryside this is not just any brewery tour! Come and join us for a brewery tour of approximately 90 minutes where we show you
all the stages of brewing, from Burtonisation of Water, Mashing, Boiling, Hops and Yeast through to the finished fermented Real Ales.
After the tour there is plenty of time for an informal beer tasting session with our Head Brewer where we take questions and welcome your feedback. At this time we will have a fantastic
BBQ ready for you, with home made burgers, sausages and bacon that is smoked on the farm. All our meat is sourced either from the farm directly or from neighbouring farms.
