Calibration
(Cp x Lp = Cc x Lc)
Cp= Concentration in the measuring path
Lp= Length of the measuring path(/diameter)
Cc= Concentration in the cell (=gasbottle)
Lc= Length of the Calibration Cell
Example: 100 ppb x 500 m = 1000 ppm x 0,05 m

Benefits of OPSIS CEM Systems
• Cross-duct, non-contact, non-extractive– Gases never come into contact with the analyser– Eliminates any possibility of changing the sample gas
from stack conditions– Fast response
• No sample system of any kind required– Lowest power requirement– No heated sample lines, pumps, filters, condensate
coolers, condensate traps and flow meters• = less parts to go wrong • = higher availability• = lower cost of ownership

Typical Extractive CEM
Disadvantages of Extractive CEM Systems• Out-of-duct, contact, extractive
– Gases are transferred from stack to analyser – There is always the possibility of changing the sample
gas from stack conditions– Slow response
• Complicated sample system is required– High power requirement (heated sample lines)– heated sample lines, pumps, filters, condensate
coolers, condensate traps and flow meters all have a limited life
• = more parts to go wrong • = lower availability• = higher cost of ownership

Fast Loop – Opsis SolutionHow would it work in practice ?
• 2” pipe connected at high level
• Pipe insulated against heat loss
• Fast loop acts as stack, but at ground level
• Fan returns stack gas to process or to vent
• No filters, no small bore tubes = no blockages
• Rain or high winds.. Can always be maintained
• SIMPLE !
3-way Auto valve with limit switches

Benefits of ET/OPSIS CEM Systems• All the benefits of the OPSIS DOAS Technique
– Cross-duct, non-contact, non-extractive– No sample system of any kind required– Measure multiple gases over multiple measurement paths with
one analyser– Add additional gases easily and inexpensively– MCERTS Approved NO NO2 SO2 CO H2O
• ET Support– Local Engineers, and more of them than any other vendor– Dedicated Telephone Support– Remote diagnostics available to contract customers
• ET Service – comprehensive and predictable, budget friendly– simple but effective
