All the sources and graphicelements used in this process such as sketches, reference image, and names werecreated and selected based on the companys background and other important aspectsprovided by the client through a questionnaire. This logo was created to achieve a fresh and modern identity for the company. However, this doesnt mean this is the final version. The client has the right to make anymodifications or drive the concept to another direction.

  • 4. I did some research on hands trying to find out if there was another 1 2action, different from the hand-shake proposed by the client, thatwould represent the client, respect, deal, business, or trust.3 4 56 7 8 9 11 Graphic Designer, Web Designer, Logo and Brand Identity Specialist
  • 5. The client said he didnt consider any existing logo appealing enough to be used as a 3 reference. Since I am still going to use the hand as a principal element, Im still need to do some research to avoid copying any one elses concept. The idea is to create an original graphic element that meets the clients requirements.1 2 45 6 78 10 11 9
  • 6. 1 2 Since I didnt have a clear understanding of the term Zen like, and it is obvious that the grammatical definition is important, I needed to get involved with the concept in a graphic context. I wanted to understand how it has been used and applied in other creative. After my research, I concluded that I had to convey the concept using a basic shapes with a fresh appearance without losing the element of balance.3 4 56 7 8 910 11
  • 7. Now that I have the necesary information about the company and Im familiarized withsome visual elements, shapes, and concepts, it is time to start creating the right visualidentity to achieve the perfect image to represent Bly Law, PC.Before I start sketching my ideas out It is important to consider my clients input... I do not want something that is based on the letters in the name of the firm. I would like a logo that I can use if I change the name of the firm. Perhaps something that reflects the lawyer- client relationship would be good, such as shaking hands or interlocking links, but I would like it to be simple, abstract, and zen-like.Graphic Designer, Web Designer, Logo and Brand Identity Specialist
  • 8. Since the client has a clear idea about the logo he needs to identify the company, it isnecessary to review some important aspects to narrow the design focus.Slide No. 5: After checking some hand actions, shaking hands is definitely the best wayto transmit lawyer-client relationship (3), other gestures such a single hand (2, 6, 8, 9) orseveral hands (7,11) could be interpreted in diferent ways.Slide No. 6: After check some logos created using hands, my perception is that whileone hand is visible, the other one is practically hidden (3, 8, 11), what about if I try torepresent the shake-hands with both hands at front? Since we are creating an abstractconcept this could be possible and this could help to create an original concept. Sincenothing is hidden, it could be interpreted as a symbol of transparency and confiability inthe service offered by the client.Graphic Designer, Web Designer, Logo and Brand Identity Specialist
  • 9. 1 2Here we have some sketches that will helpme to achieve the concept that I want totransmit. As I sais it before, The traditional shaking hands, we can see that one hand is hidden(6, 7, 8).The other sketches could work, butpersonally the scketches (9, 10, 11, 3 412) are close to concept and meet therequirements for the creation of this logo...simple, abstract and Zen like. 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12
  • 10. Here we have some vectorized ideas, not coloror company name yet, I have to get focused onthe forms. Something that I can see here if that Imust keep a clear difference between the hands., Icould work with different color or reduce the color 8 9 10intensity, otherwise I will lose the idea I am tryingto convey. 1 11 12 13 2 3 14 15 16 4 5 17 18 19 6 7 20 21 22 Graphic Designer, Web Designer, Logo and Brand Identity Specialist
  • 11. I have two final options. The first is my favorite. It is perfectly balance and kind of abstract, butcould easily be interpreted as a couple of hands about to shake. The second option is basically the same concept, but here the hand-shaking is more evident,we can see the same five lines, but the different sizes and rounded corners are easilyinterpreted as fingers. 1 2 Graphic Designer, Web Designer, Logo and Brand Identity Specialist
  • 12. IMPORTANTIn the following slides you will see the logo symbol in color, combined with thecompanys name. There is some small variations on the font and color. This is to give youa better idea how the logo looks and help to make a decision about the direction weshould take to create the final version.Graphic Designer, Web Designer, Logo and Brand Identity Specialist
