JASPER AND XENAA story about dogs

“Take your time. Breath. Open all your senses to your surroundings. What do you see? What do you hear, smell and feel? What fascinates you and caught your attention? Are you a changed person because you were forced out of your mind and made observations on your daily walk?”


When you take the time to watch a dog, even for a few minutes, you find it’s very difficult not to smile. Did you ever stop to wonder what makes “man’s best friend” well, man’s best friend?

I set out to find some answers by observing dogs, and their humans. Here is what I found.


Meet Jasper!Jasper is a 4 year old Yorkshire Terrier and weighs 8 pounds.


Meet Xena!Xena is a 3.5 month old Great Dane and weighs 60 pounds!

Curious

Territorial

Excited to see you

Interested in following you



Dogs share many human characteristics:

they love food,

playing,

socializing,

a good nap

a soft bed

hugs

kisses


They like to make new friends.


They pay attention.


They like to play. The wear their emotions on their faces.


Sometimes they are clumsy.


They love treats!


Dogs keep a watchful eye on their surroundings.


They love a good nap.


They are curious yet cautioius.


Sometimes their feet are too big for their bodies.


While I may not be a changed person after observing Jasper and Xena, I am inspired. Inspired to savor every experience throughout my day; to find excitement in the little things; to be playful, to explore, and lastly, I am inspired to take a nap.
