Global Cloud : Give-a-Damn Posters

Global Cloud has recently reviewed their mission and values statement and has pulled out key components that relate to who they are as a company. This new Give-a-Damn attitude in relation to their clients and their work has played a large role in their marketing strategy as “Give-a-Damn” people.

Re-design the values web and design an entirely new set of company posters for the office space. The values web and poster design should relate to Global Cloud’s newly-designed brand guidelines--mimicking color, type, imagery, and overall esthetic. The Give-a-Damn posters should primarily focus in on their values while still calling attention to their slogan statement. The re-designed values web will be placed on the website and posters will be printed and hung up in the upstairs office space.

Infographics : The Truth About “Clean” Water

Design a campaign to build awareness of your selected societal issue sponsored by the Miami University Philanthropic Association. Develop a series of three posters driving your audience to a site, location or event connected to your cause.

Each poster will use an infographic as the central visual, based on your initial research and our class discussion, pick one issue to focus upon. In each of the posters, an infographic will be used to draw the reader’s interest and then present the call to action information as secondary content.

Work to establish a distinctive look and feel for the first piece and then carry through that same look and feel in the additional pieces. Create unique imagery that expresses the concept and tone consistently

People Driven Interaction Design

The design of user interfaces shapes the way people engage with interaction design systems. Early in any interaction design project, visual decisions, content decisions, conceptual decisions, and functional decisions all come together in a polished comp that is presented to the client.

For this project, design for a user interface for several interaction design products that will promote the People Driven Design project solution that was developed by another student earlier in the semester. Over the process of the project you will move from the development of information architecture and features to the full development of Adobe Illustrator-based comps that will show how your design decision making would work when fully developed.

Effusions Editorial Journal

Collaborate with another designer and additional members of the Effusions Editorial Board Team to create an annually published 64 page publication. The publication will showcase selected works from graduate and undergraduate students at Miami University as well as selected staff/faculty. Submitted works showcase a variety of disciplines throughout the College of Creative Arts that are either visual or written pieces.

Design an esthetically pleasing journal that highlights a variety talents from literary, to traditional, to digital in a way that does not take away from the work that was submitted. Maintain a structured grid in order to make the publication easy to read among many viewers.

Logo Development : Eule

Self-contained designs that provide quick and efficient communication about a wide range of human activity fall into the general category of symbols, marks, and logos. A symbolic or representational image of a business is the contemporary manifestation of hundreds of years of people “marking” their goods and services.

The company becomes a client who is in search of a new logo, stationery system, and the logo applied to another brand item. The goal will be to design these items reflecting the company profile that has been written.
