An Adorable Statement of Jewellery World- Ring

By: Neeru Jain Rings are one of the most important ornaments from ancient time as a sign of adornment, power and identification for by movements of the hands, rings are in constant display. A hand with long fingers is accentuated by a ring with small round setting, it is better to wear larger oval, Marquise or Emerald-cut shapes. A little finger ring may help to diminish the length of the hand, whereas the same thing on a square hand will only emphasize the squareness. A Sandblasted or wire brushed finish is very attractive, but if used on a surface that is subjected to normal wear, the effect will last only for a short time. It is preferable to use these finishes on surfaces what are depressed or otherwise protected from normal wear; otherwise they will tend to wear off, leaving a smooth finish in time. Raised borders on the shank of a ring may be polished and depressed areas sandblasted. Large areas of polished white or platinum should be avoided Rings are an important costuming accent, though finger rings are often simple circular band of gold, silver or other decorative material slipped on to a finger gives the manifestation of royal ring. With the meticulous crafting of the three main parts of a ring-Its Shank/band, Shoulder and under bezel.

Shoulder- A Term sometimes to refer to the upper portion of the Ring shank near the setting. Gallery- Strips of ornamental metal used in making bezels or setting for mountings. Ornamentation between the top trim and under bezel used to fill in space decoratively, and also serving to raised the top trim area over the under bezel. Trim- Any piece added to shank or under bezel, if on the both sides, it is called Shoulder trim. Stone setting of head- The portion of a piece of Jewellery in which the stone is secured. Common styles are Basket, Belcher, Box, Fishtail, Gypsy, Colette, Tiffany, Channel, Invisible, Illusion and Block Size- Rings are needed a certain size to wear, Ring Size may be 5 us to 13 us (15.7 to 22.2 m.m). Use a ring that fits you to determine your ring size. Place your ring over the nearest size circle. The inner edge of the ring should align with the outer edge of the circle then if your ring appears to fit between two sizes, buy the larger size. Apart from these distinctive parts of a ring there is a range of decorative forms of finger rings. Rings with decorative bezel with bells or drops, mythological forms and linked rings worn on adjoining fingers are some type of exclusive craftsmanship.
