Casting

Darcey- Darcey is the main character; she is the antagonist in the film. Darcey is supposed to be sweet and innocent by her looks, but in the film a dark and evil spirit takes over her turning her eyes black and she is then the antagonist in the film who attempts to kill all the other characters. The characters notice straight away as they meet Darcey that she is a bit abnormal and she smells like she hasn’t bathed for about a week or so. Parts of Darcey’s faces are pale and disorientated and he eyes are black because her pupils are dilated like dark holes in her eyes and her face is emotionless.

CeCe- CeCe is a very pure and innocent character who is Freya’s close friend; she tries to help Freya get rid of the evil spirit from inside Darcey but in the process gets into trouble. CeCe is a happy and caring person and when Freya gets too involved CeCe becomes suspicious and very concerned that Freya will get hurt.

Zara- Zara stays behind the camera; she doesn’t show her face much during the film. She is an important character though as she is the one who gets the footage of Darcey and is the last one alive after the others get killed by Darcey. Although Zara doesn’t go in front of the camera much her intake of the situation is important.

Freya- Freya is the hippy/gypsy character who is very spiritual and tries to get rid of the evil spirit. The fact that Freya can sense an evil spirit starts conflict between Freya and Darcey straight away from when they meet. Freya is an important character because as soon as the meets Darcey like the other characters she smells something is wrong but not only that she feels/senses a bad spirit near and knows that evil is involved and she wants to help straight away.

Casting research

The actress I would like to play Darcey is Kathryn Newton this is because the role she played in Paranormal Activity 4 (2012) is similar to the role of Darcey. Her role in that movie included her being possessed and controlled by an evil spirit , I think she would be good at playing the role of Darcey because she’s innocent and sweet and looks like the victim, although she looks too innocent to be the antagonist I think she would be good at it because known would suspect it, I also think that she would be very good at the role of CeCe because she is innocent and caring but I believe she would suit the role of Darcey more because of her previous experience of being the victim of possession.

The Actress I would like to play CeCe is Maika Monroe because of her previous role in the film It Follows (2014) her part in the film was playing a young teenage girl called Jay whom a spirit has been following her causing disasters for her and her friends in which this happens after a ‘seemingly innocent sexual encounter’. I think that she would be good at the role of CeCe because she is innocent and concerning about others wellbeing.

The actor I would be ideal for the character Zara is Heather Donahue this is because of her previous role on The Blaire Witch Project her role on this film is similar to Zara, this is because her role in the film she is doing a media project in which is live filming and investigating which is what Zara is doing in our film. Also Zara is the last one to get filmed as she gets dragged off which is the only difference and also Zara knows something is up straight away.

The actress I would like to play Freya is Olivia Cooke. I think she would be perfect for this role because of her role in Ouija as Loraine who is the main character and believes about the Ouija board and how they can contact spirits especially after her friend Debbie dies she is more intrigued as to what happened and how the board effected her. She feels very strongly attached to the board spiritually and knows there is something bad/ wrong going on this is why I would like her to play Freya because like her character Loraine she is suspicious and spiritually attached and wants to solve the problem.
