THE OPPONENT
The most significant part of any game is the presence of an opponent.
Organizations have opponents who are internal and external.
EXTERNAL OPPONENTS MOTIVATE!

EXTERNAL OPPONENTS MOTIVATE!

INTERNAL OPPONENTS
“Two is company and three is a crowd.”
INTERNAL OPPONENTS
Two people often collaborate better than a group of three people.
Two people may come together, excluding the third person.
General Electric ranks its employees:-Those in the bottom 10 percent have 1
year to rise or they are fired.-This ensures that underperformers are excluded from the team.
HOW CAN YOU AVOID INTERNAL OPPONENTS?
Do not imagine the people you are working with as opponents, but rather look at them asteam members.
Externalize the opponent.
Ensure that you are playing by your company’s rules and are always seen as part of the team.
If you are not, you will find very quickly that the team is against you.
BE A TEAM PLAYER! When interviewing, Stress that you are a team
player.
When doing a job, ensure you are winning for your team.
Be an asset.
Be public about helping the team.
Never speak negatively about your team
HOW CAN YOU BE AN ASSET?
Employment stability is very important. The best workers are the people who have the most stability.
WHAT DOES A STABLE EMPLOYEE DO? Joins teams, instead of “get jobs”
Their presence brings positivity to the organization
Positive team members don’t speak negatively of others, they remain neutral.
NEGATIVE PEOPLE ARE CANCERS TO COMPANIES AND CAN CAUSE THEM TO FAIL!
