In currently six European countries our Clinical Nurse Educators (CNE) are partnering with hospital based health care professionals to support them in their daily endevour to ensure patient compliance in the aftercare of heart attacks. According to a recently published study of the world heart federation up to 75% of patients with known CVD are not even using one recommended medication*. Our program is set to reduce this number and our CNEs are set to fulfil this mission. Learn more about the daily work of an CNE from our Danish colleague, Dorthe L.: How does a typical day as a Clinical Nurse Educator look like? “Whilst the task – approaching hospitals and supporting nurses in their pursuit to ensure that patients are compliant to their aftercare medicationis well defined, I am happy to say that there is no such thing like a typical day. In some hospitals my former colleagues are very well informed about the challenges related to patient compliance, so that we can focus on details, whilst others might be taken by surprise to learn that 75% of patients with known Cardiovascular Disease are not using constantly the recommended medication. Sometimes I perform group meetings, sometimes it is an intensive conversation with one nurse for some 30 minutes. It is always exciting, it is always different, this is what I like so much. After now being in this role for a while, does this function fulfil your expectations? “My expectations were exceeded. I received the best professional on the job training I could imagine which enabled me right from the start to go out there and to support nurses. I thought, I would be on my own, me and my car but I am fully integrated into our European inVentiv Health team with regular phone calls and a great relationship to our local partner’s team. Yes, I might be alone in my car, but I am never alone at work. This is simply the best job I could imagine for a nurse” Wow, that is a strong statement. What makes it such a great job? ““My input matters. I became a trusted partner for the health care staff in my hospitals. Nurses also maybe even ask questions that seem obvious, but in a busy work environment, the obvious can be missed. It is very important to build up a relationship, where all questions are welcomed and that takes more than one visit. My work is valued by the people I speak with. Recently I have been actively approached by some hospitals which originally weren’t on my list, asking me for visiting them too. My job is to add value to the nurses and to support them in their responsibility for their patients. This is simply great.” What would be your recommendation if a friend where asking you if she or he should apply for the role of a Clinical Nurse Educator at inVentiv Health? “ ‘Do it!’ I really wish there were more jobs like this for nurses” KEEN TO START? professionals to support them in their daily endevour to ensure patient

compliance in the aftercare of heart attacks. According to a recently

published study of the world heart federation up to 75% of patients with

known CVD are not even using one recommended medication*.

Our program is set to reduce this number and our CNEs are set to fulfil

How does a typical day as a Clinical Nurse Educator look like?

“Whilst the task – approaching hospitals and supporting nurses in their pursuit to ensure

that patients are compliant to their aftercare medication– is well defined, I am happy to

say that there is no such thing like a ‘typical day’. In some hospitals my former

colleagues are very well informed about the challenges related to patient compliance, so

that we can focus on details, whilst others might be taken by surprise to learn that 75%

of patients with known Cardiovascular Disease are not using constantly the

recommended medication. Sometimes I perform group meetings, sometimes it is an

intensive conversation with one nurse for some 30 minutes. It is always exciting, it is

always different, this is what I like so much.”

After now being in this role for a while, does this function fulfil your expectations?

“My expectations were exceeded. I received the best professional on the job training I could imagine which enabled me right from the start to go out there and to support

nurses. I thought, I would be on my own, me and my car but I am fully integrated into our

European inVentiv Health team with regular phone calls and a great relationship to our

local partner’s team. Yes, I might be alone in my car, but I am never alone at work. This is simply the best job I could imagine for a nurse”

Wow, that is a strong statement. What makes it such a great job?

““My input matters. I became a trusted partner for the health care staff in my hospitals. Nurses also maybe even ask questions that seem obvious, but in a busy work

environment, the obvious can be missed. It is very important to build up a relationship,

where all questions are welcomed and that takes more than one visit. My work is

valued by the people I speak with. Recently I have been actively approached by some

hospitals which originally weren’t on my list, asking me for visiting them too. My job is to add value to the nurses and to support them in their responsibility for their patients. This

is simply great.”

What would be your recommendation if a friend where asking you if she or he should apply for

the role of a Clinical Nurse Educator at inVentiv Health?

“ ‘Do it!’ I really wish there were more jobs like this for nurses”
