THINGS ONE LEARNS IN THE FIRST JOB

1. Getting OrganizedThe first job definitely teaches you how to become organized -- right from your sleep routine to your work routine. Now you know time management. You also start living a way more organised life. You, as an individual, tend to become more responsible. Working helps you get away with your bad habits and you improve as an individual.

2. Facing ChallengesFacing challenges becomes a normal routine when you start working. Every day comes with new challenges in some way or the other. You get used to dealing with them and soon develop the confidence to deal with them with a 'bring it on' spirit.

3. SocialWhen working, you have to become social. It helps you feel better and you build your network. Your colleagues tend to become your close friends. In your first job, it's also good to take initiatives.

4. Ask, Ask & AskAs you are new to the world of working and enter an entirely different environment, you tend to learn how to ask a lot of questions to clear your doubts. This makes you gain knowledge and helps you understand things better.

5. DeadlinesYes! How can we forget this one! Whenever we start doing a job, we are under a certain pressure. Everyone tends to get deadlines, no matter in which field one is working in. Your first job tends to teach you how to complete your work within deadlines and how to deal with the pressure while doing so.

6. NetworkingYou tend to learn the talent of networking and making contacts. It's important in the corporate world to build contacts as you may need anyone anytime. Add the people you meet in your office and your teammates on professional networking sites to remain in touch and build a network.

7. Talk Less, Listen MoreIn your first job, as you are new to the environment, you learn the habit of listening more than talking. This is important to be successful. And whenever you talk, it's important to think before you speak.

8. Avoid NegativeWhen working, you meet a lot of people from varied backgrounds. Take your time and observe them carefully. Do not be in any hurry of getting friendly with anybody soon. You do not know their intentions, what they think of you or how they are. So once you take time and understand them, keep as much distance as you can from people who seem negative. As they would do nothing but just bring you down or make you cynical.

9. No Strings AttachedRemember not to get attached to people or the place where you are working in. To grow in life, you need to love the work you do, not the place where you work in.

10. Nothing Is RigidYou are not forced to work in any company if you are being mistreated, exploited or underappreciated. Do not think twice but leave the job. If it doesn't give you happiness but stress, then it's not meant to work out. You must learn to value yourself more.
