Candidate name: Theme: Music Magazine Portrait Photo Shoot

Predicted final outcome

During this shoot I shall be taking round about 50 photographs of which 10 of these will be used for my work. For this I shall be taking photos that would be going on the cover of a music magazine. These photo will be used to get the band and artist in a good light this means the photo should come out as a way to get people to listen to them and not ignore them that means the photos that I make must stand out above the rest

Reasons for selection of theme (including inspiration from the work of others)

I have chosen 3 different photographers that I will be using for inspiration when I start to take my photographs

The first artist that I have used as my inspiration is the work of an artist called Michael Williams .he uses the use of shadows well as well as adding a black and white tint this might be something that I want to use

The next artist that I have chosen is Andy Fallon he dose a lot of celebrity work he also dose a lot of work at portrate with mulltipal people .What I like about his work is having more than one person in the photo each of them making a different pose .

The final artist that I have picked is Philipp Ammon I like the strange poses that he uses in the images it is something that I might think about doing in my own work.

The photo imaging equipment and medium that will be used and why

The camera that I shall be using for my shoots will be the Canon EOS 1100D.Some of the features that this camera will includes is 12.2 mega pixels ,6400 ISO, Continues shooting ,LCD screen and optimize lighting levels

The lenses that I shall be using is the default 18 – 55 mm lenses for close to mid shots .I will also be using a Cannon EF 75mm-300 mm lenses for far off shots . I will also be using a GIOTTOS tripod if needed which is 3/8” mounted with a max high of 1.76 m

Techniques

Some of the techniques that I shall be using will be the following. shutter speed I may want to have some sort of motion bluer in the photos this would mean that I need to have a low shutter speed . I will also be using the ISO command so then I can change how much light the camera takes in for example if I am inside then I will need a high ISO and if I’m

outside I will need a low ISO(depending on the weather).I will also use the rules of thirds in order to make the viewer look at what I wish them to see but this is something that will come natural and it could also look interesting and different if I do not follow this rule so I might not use it a often as some of the other techniques

Location of shoot Around the Eccles college area mainly in the photography both .other areas of the college may be used if need be .On the outskirts of the college the three sister’s woods will be used because it has a lot of nature wildlife trees etc. This will also give me images with natural light which will work well with my photography.
