This is why students go to school…

Courage is fire, and bullying is

smoke.

"I just want the bullying to

stop. That is all I ever wanted. I

used to love going to school.

Now I hate it."

This is what mostly students

say after they get bullied

No, students don’t go to school to

get bullied, they go to school for

Education…

Page 4: Stop bullying!

Why do Students talk about other students. Is there

something wrong with them. No, I don’t think something

wrong with them, I think something’s wrong with the people

who talk about other people(bullies).

Megan Meier

Megan Taylor Meier (November 6, 1992 – October 17, 2006) was an American teenager from Dardenne

Prairie, Missouri, who committed suicide by hanging three weeks before her fourteenth birthday. A year

later, Meier's parents prompted an investigation into the matter and her suicide was attributed to cyber-

bullying through the social networking website MySpace. The mother of a friend of Meier, Lori Drew, was later

indicted on the matter in 2008, but in 2009, Drew was acquitted.

Ashlynn Conner

A 10 year old girl committed suicide after getting bullied. Stacy Conner(mother of Ashlynn Conner) broke down, as she recounted how kids at school and around the neighbourhood would tease the girl. "They'd call her a slut, Ashlynn's ugly. She's fat." Conner, a single mother, says it's been going on for years. She knew her daughter was picked on, but she didn't know what to do. They had talked about the bullying before, but Conner says Ashlynn never told her things were this bad. The girl had asked to be home-schooled after coming home Thursday. When her mother said no, Ashlynn's sister found her the next day in a bedroom closet. She had hanged herself with a scarf.

Mitchell Wilson

When Mitchell was 8, his mother

died of cancer.

Muscular dystrophy left Mitchell

Wilson struggling to do simple

things like walking around the

block or climbing stairs. He also

had to use a walker at school.

Doctors had urged him to

exercise regularly to stave off

the disease's effects, something

that was growing increasingly

difficult for the boy. He always

got bullied so he committed

suicide.

Jamey Rodemeyer

Jamey Rodemeyer was found dead

by his sister the morning of

September 18, 2011 in an apparent

hanging suicide. Prior to his

death, he posted a final update

on Twitter that was directed toward

Lady Gaga. The tweet

read, "@ladygaga bye mother

monster, thank you for all you have

done, paws up forever".

Phoebe Prince

The suicide of Phoebe Prince, on

January 14, 2010, led to the criminal

prosecution of six teenagers for

charges including statutory rape and

civil rights violations, as well as to the

enactment of stricter anti-bullying

legislation by

the Massachusetts state legislature.

Prince had moved

from Ireland to South

Hadley, Massachusetts.

Her suicide, after suffering months

of bullying from school

classmates, brought international

attention to the problem of bullying in

US schools. In March 2010, a state

anti-bullying task force was set up as

a result of her death. The

Massachusetts legislation was signed

into law on May 3, 2010.

Morgan Musson

A 13-year-old girl committed suicide

after being bullied at school for being

tall.

Morgan Musson, who was 6ft, was

allegedly tormented by fellow pupils

over a period of seven months.

Even though she was moved to

another school by her parents, the

bullying continued because the gang

involved lived nearby.

Hours after a tiff with one of her

friends further upset her, Morgan

swallowed 40 tablets of the powerful

painkiller coproxamol and went to

bed.

Her body was found by her mother

Debra Savage, 35, when she tried to

wake her at 6am for school.
