SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE

“Blink-182's bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus says that Twitter is his "perfect medium" because it's like a puzzle that challenges him to communicate funny stories as succinctly as possible.”

Blink-182’s main social media preference is Twitter. The band has an official twitter as well as each of the members of the band and they all post multiple times daily.

Online Communities

•Blink 182 used to have many online communities but as they become slower and slower at putting out albums the online communities have decreased.•Blink 182 still have the facebook, twitter and social media communities and they become very active when Blink 182 releases new music•One of the main fansites that blink 182 has is called www.BlinkDisasters.com where most of the die hard blink 182 fans go to post their thoughts on the message boards. This website has been up ever since I became a fan and I have made a lot of friends from other countries who share the same blink 182 interests as I do

CONTINUE SOCIAL PUSH IRL, HAND OUT SWAG, PUT UP FLYERS

•Blink-182 users allows users who are at the show to tweet before the concert, and they select the users with the best tweets and give them upgraded seats at the venue.•During the shows they have been said to have said for users to tweet certain hashtags # at them allowing them to connect even more on twitter•Once they even told the audience to pull out their phones, record a video of them talking right now in the concert and have everyone post it on twitter at the same time.

Page 14: Slideshare Band B4532651

•Blink-182 has no problem keeping up to date and posting consistently. •I follow each of them on twitter and it is unlikely to see them post less then 3 tweets per day•There is almost never a day when you dont hear about blink-182 or their band members doing something

Post Consistently

Overall, out of all of the bands that I follow, Blink-182 is most up to date with all the new

social media trends and stays constantly active. Being a fan, this is what I look for

from a band. Long Live Blink-182
