What is public speaking? It’s a process of speaking to a
group of people in a structured, deliberate manner intended to inform, influence, or entertain the listeners
What is the purpose of public speaking?
transmitting information motivating people (to act, to
support, to protest and etc.) telling a story/ entertainment influence persuasion
Remember: Its not a dry speech/talk there is a reason you are there be able to change the atmosphere
in the room stay engaged
Consider the occasion To whom are you speaking? When are you speaking? Where are you speaking? What are you speaking about? How?

Posture and wardrobe Don’t just stand there Casual posture Have some space for you to walk
Cont. Don’t pace Dress according to the audience and
the topic of your presentation Ladies- make up but not too much Gents- suits or some casual cloths
Hands rest them on the podium avoid same hand gestures advice: don’t overdo it :)
Relax pick 3 spots in the crowd:

Speak slowly, don’t rush, no one is chasing you
