Who We Are…

One life at a time is a private, non-profit organization that was established in 2007 by Christine and Jim Driscoll with the mission of giving back to the community.

By offering FREE career development training, such as mentoring, coaching and job placement assistance, they are aiding individuals, from all walks of life, with the career building essentials needed to be successful in the workplace.

Our Approach…

One Life At a Time is partnered with community based businesses in an effort to better understand their hiring

needs and requirements. From the information obtained, key factors and resources are implemented into our

program to ensure individuals are receiving the appropriate employment training to meet the demands of

the marketplace.

Our Focus…One Life At a Time is designed to provide FREE career services to individuals who are new or returning to the market place. We assist in coaching and mentoring individuals with career building essentials so they can obtain and retain gainful employment. We seek to build confidence to help individuals with the education and training they need to be successful in the workplace.

Skills AssessmentA Career Development Specialist will work with you to identify your personal/vocational skills enabling you to broaden your employment qualifications and employment search.

A Career Development Specialist will help identify your career goals, define your plan and determine how to accomplish these goals and when you need to make any necessary adjustments.

Computer TrainingA Career Development Specialist will offer tutorials in the following areas based on your specific needs: Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access), Microsoft Windows (Windows XP, Windows Me and Windows 2000), Web Design with Front Page, QuickBooks Pro, Typing Master Pro, Internet Research and Email (compose, send and attachments).

Office Etiquette TrainingA Career Development Specialist will provide information on how to conduct yourself respectfully and courteously in the office or workplace. We will help polish your skills and improve your professional image.

A Career Development Specialist will schedule mock interviews to help improve your business communication skills and act appropriately with confidence in any situation.

They will help you display your experience, education and training in the best possible manner to insure that you will receive full and proper consideration and increase your chances of obtaining a job.

Financial PlanningWe host monthly seminars with various financial planners to provide proper personal finance planning including budgeting, saving money, planning for college, taxes, investing and retirement.

Job Search PlanningA Career Development Specialist will show you how and where you can begin searching for your ideal job. They will supply you with useful tools on how to post resumes with many of the major career networking websites and keep you notified of job fairs available in your area.

WorkshopsOne Life At a Time offers regular workshop classes on a variety of topics that may be of interest to job seekers. They include such topics as Computer Fundamentals, Cover Letters, Resumes and References, Networking, Self Assessment and Job Searching, Interviewing Success, Staying Motivated during Job Search as well as Workplace, Phone and E-Mail Etiquette.

Resources• Maria Droste Counseling Services – Provides services that are

designed to help individuals, couples and families who might be experiencing difficulties within themselves, at home, in school or in relationships.

• Dress for Success – A non-profit providing professional attire for woman. Each client receives one suit for their initial interview and can return for a second suit or separates once a job has been secured.

• Career Gear - A non-profit providing professional attire for men who have completed a job training program. Each client receives one fitted suit for their initial interview and once employed may join their Alumni program.

• Bay State Community Services - A non-profit human services agency providing individuals and families with social, mental health, addiction and correctional services.

• Employment Opportunities – If you are currently seeking employment, the attached link will provide you with a list of the most popular search engine sites for employment opportunities.

• Local Colleges/Tech Schools – If you are currently seeking higher education, the attached link will provide you with a list of area colleges and technical schools.

• GED Programs – If you are interested in attaining a GED, the attached link will provide you with a list of schools and testing centers.
