My 10 year plan

About me My name is Kevin Santos Massey. I enjoy languages and the study of the English language. For my recreation usually enjoy music and gaming, i also enjoy art and graphical design. My favourite sport is boxing and UFC. Because of my mixed family ancestry (brazilan/irish/norman) i love the experince of other cultures and languages.One of my favourite authors is GRRM the author who created the song of ice and fire series and writer for the TV adaption game of thrones. I am a passionate individual with a strong sense of perectionism in my hobbies and interests.

Ideal job and why I d like to work there

My ideal job is to work in teaching as I enjoy parting knowledge to others. working as a teacher Is challenging and i would certainly wish to live up to the challenge that is modern teaching.Teaching has a high level of autonamy, while you follow a curriculam you do so in your own unique way and method, not many jobs allow such creativity.The concept of giving a future to others inspires me, this insipriation gives a passion and drive for the work involved. Since the media industry is a an extremley tough and competitve industry that requires extreme perserverence to land a decent And substantial job, teaching media seems an ideal fall back plan, while teaching is also tough and competive it is nowhere near the level that the media industry is in.

Hours of work and responsibiltys The hours of work vary from teacher position but a secondary school (media) teacher would work 50.2 hours a week ranging from classtime to marking and work at home. The responsibiltys included are: • preparing and delivering lessons to a range of pupils academic abilitys• Give feedback and maintain pupils progress and devolpment• Pprepare pupils for Qualifications and examinations.• Manage pupil behaviour throughout classroom and school grounds• Undertake pastoral duties such as becoming a form tutor• Participate and organise extracurricular activities

Plan of action My plan of action from college to the future consists of first finishing my btec level 3 to graduate towards university to get a ba (hons) in media. I will also take a one year PGCE in media and english along with the media degree for teacher development skills. The ba (hons ) media require 260-300 ucas points to include 2 a levels or equivalent. This means my target grade at the end of the course is a DMM or DDM to acheive my goals.

The university I would go to is Portsmouth university as it is local and has media courses available and goldsmith univeristy in london for a PGCE in media and english. Once the university degree and PGCE Is completed i would gain a qts (qualified teaching status) and be able to teach in England. I would look for a placement in teaching at a secondary school such oaklands catholic school, my former secondary school or look for another local secondary school that is close to where i am living.

Organization research/work experience

An organisation that i have researched is oaklands catholic school. As a former pupil it would be a suitable enviroment for me to shadow a teacher and see what the day to day jobs and responsibiltys is required of me in the teaching industry.

A 2 day or one week placement would be suitable for my experince needed. Contact with my former headteacher or form tutor would be arranged. This would be a very benificial oppurtinity as this can be put on my cv as experince in the classroom.

College target grades My target grade in my first year for multimedia journalism is DDM (distinction, distinction, merit)

Year two will be the same target as i try to reach DMM or DDM for my university degree.

SWOT analysis • Strengths: creative, passionate, strong drive for perfection

• Threats: Cannot drive, rely on public transport
