A photo essay on Gramalaya's water and sanitation efforts for
women and all people in the rural village of Pudukkulam, Tamil
Nadu.
Through a project partially-funded by Arghyam in Bangalore, India.
Gramalaya has worked on water and sanitation in rural and urban Tamil Nadu, India since 1987.
In a project called “Sustainable WASH Initiatives through PRIs and Women Federations,” Gramalaya worked in 158 villages in 28 panchayats in Tamil Nadu.
Pudukullam was one rural village that received water and sanitation interventions.
This photo essay and associated article show how water and sanitation interventions play a part in the empowerment of women in the village of Pudukkulam.
