Mission Statement
The mission of Dress for Success San Diego
is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing
professionalattire, a network of support, and
the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
Suiting•Women are referred to Dress for Success by agencies offering job readiness, rehabilitation and other programs.
•Dress for Success provides a complete outfit of business attire as women prepare for a job interview.
•Once employed, clients receive up to a week’s worth of workplace-appropriate attire to ease their transition into the new work environment.

Professional Women’s Group
•The PWG is a monthly forum for Dress for Success employed or recently suited women.
•During meetings, members are given the opportunity to network with other professional women.
•Women discuss common experiences and provide career advice and resources such as job openings, training, and community resources.
•Expert speakers address subjects such as financial literacy, stress management, workplace etiquette, debt counseling, nutrition, and career advancement options.

Mentoring Program•Clients are teamed with successful businesswomen in the community for guidance, support and consultation on employment-related issues and career building opportunities.
•The mentor and mentee meet at least twice a month by phone or in person.
•The client identifies 1-3 goals that they will work on with their mentor.

Links to Training •Dress for Success has developed working relationships with One-Stop Career Centers and Robert Half International.
•Clients are given the opportunity to receive job search, resume assistance, career planning, skill assessment and software training through these organizations.

The Breakfast Club•A 12-week workshop series for unemployed and underemployed women seeking job search assistance.
•Women develop essential career-oriented skills to meet their immediate and long-term professional goals.
•The Breakfast Club incorporates workshops and group discussions to promote professional and personal networking, knowledge-sharing and relationship building.
