Get Mental: have the right Mindset. 1. Hiring Managers / Interviewers do not

speak in Code. Your HMs do not speak RochesterWorks!-ese. They love reading/hearing a good SCAR

story, BUT this doesn’t mean they know what it is called.

Just like we love a good website … most of us can’t write code.

Change language like “Situation” into “Accomplishment.” OR start with your Accomplishment. This is more interesting and more universal.

2. You’re like an Olympian setting the bar.

You’re being innovative. You’re being proactive. You’re setting yourself apart. This is extra and is not required. …And so, if you’re going to do it—you better

do it well and do it right.
