Contents Page research/links to my contents

When conducting my contents page research I found that almost all R&B music magazines have the magazine masthead within the contents. The are usually found in the top right hand corner or the page. The logo is not too big and not too small. Its easy to spot and recognize. I used this aspect within my own magazine. I was heavily inspired by ‘XXL’ contents page. So my layout and positioning of the text and images steam mostly from that.

The contents pages within R&B magazine are not too complicated, they are very simply and have a simple layout. There is rarely anymore than one image within the page. So for my contents I also only used one image making it seem more genuine. The artist within the page is most likely to be looking towards the audience, so for my contents I chose an image which had the angle of gaze directly towards the readers.

To make my contents feel more genuine I added the date of the issue, this feature can be seen within every music magazine in the media today.

I have seen that text within the contents page are along one side of the page. The words are aligned and are not too big to over complicate the page. I also took this and used it within my own magazine, making it more genuine and alike to a real music magazine.
