Big issues of child labor

• Number of children workers around the world is like 73 million children 10-14 years old.

• Child labor effects over 250 million children.

• Child labor has been increasing steadily in the towns and cities.

• Mali, 54.5% , Burkina Faso, 51% , Niger and Uganda, both 45%

• Senegal, 31.4% , Bangladesh, 30.1%

• Nigeria, 25.8% Haiti, 25% Turkey, 24% cote D’lvoire, 20.5% Pakistan, 17.7% Brazil, 16.1% India, 14.4% China, 11.6% and Egypt, 11.2%

• One in six Children 5 to 14 years old about 16% of all Children in this age group is involved in child labor in developing countries.

States an laws advice

• States ratifying the minimum age convention adopted by the international labor organization in 1973, have adopted minimum ages varying from 14 to 16.

• Child labor laws in the Untied States set the minimum age to work in a establishment without restrictions and without parents’ consent at age 16.

• It may do more harm than any good

History/timeline

• 1797 (United States) Profit sharing originated at Albert Gallatin’s glass works in new Geneva, Pennsylvania.

• July 3, 1835 (Untied States) Children employed in the silk mills in Paterson, new Jersey go on strike for the 11-hour day, 6 days a week.

Human impact

• The long issue is that no one willing to do anything to stop it.

• My issue on child labor is savior and so many kids are getting abused for working at an young age.

Where child labor is the worst

•Child labor is the worst in Michigan! :O

• It happens most in grand rapids, Kalamazoo, Kentwood, and Holland.

Personal connection

• This issue affects me in how there is so many kids in the world an them having a job at a young age because there parents don’t maker enough money.

My Solution

• I would like to see this affect change big, by the government helping out family’s that don’t have enough money to feed their family.

• My idea would help because there wouldn’t be so many homeless kids and family’s
