Carlos Alberto Martins Lima OBJETIVE: IT Technology Consultant Qualifications - Large experience in Linux/UNIX physical and logical large scale moves - Coordinated international teams on implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of mission critical Linux/UNIX platforms in US, UK and Canada - large experience in Linux and UNIX high availability and virtualization, Shell script and performance analysis and troubleshooting Professioal Experience Hewlett-Packard, São paulo, SP 03/2005 - 08/2015 Technical Consultant - On Customer Unilever I was part on a large transition of their global MTS systems (Ecache, Calido) from old Tru64 server to brand new HP Superdomes running HP-UX. All servers were located in US and UK sites accessed remotely in Brazil, and I had to interact with the local teams to check the physical part of the installation (mostly checking cabling) and remotely configuring the kernel, filesystems and the high availability. Tests were conducted to ensure the redundancy and high availability were working perfect. - I have implemented an MC/Serviceguard cluster in a RHEL6 for Telefonica’s SAP system, running full failure tests to ensure reliability - Customer Vivo needed 150 Linux servers in 5 different configurations. Use of Kicstart files reduced install from 3 weeks to 5 days. - Worked on the logical move of the main SAP systems of customer Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (a huge multinational Brazilian mining company) from Brazil to servers on a Canadian site 30 servers contained in 12 HP Superdomes, all being mission critical and with MC/Serviceguard clusters. An international team split between Brazil and Canada, worked with me helping to configure the servers and conduct high availability tests that made a quick and tranquil transition in a single weekend. - Worked on customer Claro’s physical move of 20 full-packed Superdomes containing over 50 servers (virtual and physical) from Rio de Janeiro to Campinas datacenter, the whole of their mission critical servers, using bubble server strategy, and as Superdome modules were freed on origin they were transferred to the destiny datacenter to the other Superdomes. Besides configuration and tests, there were some module versions not compatible with some Superdome complex versions, which demanded extra attention and some adjustments in the migration waves, which in consequence occurred 100% on schedule and without incidents. - I have implemented the new corporate servers (Superdomes) on customer MRS Logistica with virtualization (vpars) and MC/Serviceguard high availability in 2 sites, following the best redundancy, high availability and disaster recovery. - Customer MRS HP-UX servers needed performance improvements. Analyzing their environment I saw they would benefit from an OS upgrade, which was done in 2 waves (a rolling upgrade) thanks to the high availability best pratices, without incidents and with a 40% increase on disk performance, allowing all batches fit on the batch window. - Customer NET (cable tv company) needed to install 48 servers, I have done it in one day using virtual media resources of the blade servers.

Technical Consultant - On Customer Unilever I was part on a large transition of their global MTS systems (Ecache, Calido) from old Tru64 server to brand new HP Superdomes running HP-UX. All servers were located in US and UK sites accessed remotely in Brazil, and I had to interact with the local teams to check the physical part of the installation (mostly checking cabling) and remotely configuring the kernel, filesystems and the high availability. -Customer Banco IBI had their virtual servers (vpars) reinitializing when customer issued an ls –lR . I was called in a escalation and found an error on the virtualization configuration done by the customer, corrected it and the problem was gone. - Customer transitions escalated HP because of a simple tar command taking hours to complete. I found an invalid entry on the nsswitch.conf file, corrected it and the problem was gone. - On a Consulting and Integration project on customer Vivo I was called to perform a server migration on the TEMIP system. I have found out an opportunity to reform their high availability configuration using the latest MC/Serviceguard version’s resources, such as service hierarchy, on their packages and that helped solve long lasting problems and easing the operation of the platform on scheduled or unscheduled outages. - On customer Petrobras I implemented Serviceguard’s high availability in existing SAP environments comprising 48 HP-UX virtual partitions (vpars). Because those SAP instances were in use by the Dev team in Argentina I had to do it in 5 waves taking 2 weeks, working around the clock on configuring and testing with the local SAP team, finishing it in record time and delivering fail-proof systems. - Customer Santher had performance problems. With help of a TOTVS specialist I made adjustments on the HP-UX kernel, improving 150% the performance of their online and batch transactions. - On customer Santher I have found weakness on their high availability configuration, applying the corrections allowed on the window and scheduling a new service including the full analysis and correction along with other pending services. - On customer Santher I have found long lasting problems caused by an old HP-UX version bug. After I applied the patch the problem was gone.
