Career Episode One Introduction CE1.1 This episode describes a position that I currently occupy. After completion of my mechanical degree course I have been working for Induspect Pty Ltd Perth – Australia since June 2013.I currently hold a position of a welding and painting inspector. Together with two quality control engineers (both professional mechanical engineers) reporting directly to them I perform Inspection and Test Plan, Welding procedures, Procedure Qualification Records, Welder Qualification certificates, NDT Procedures and Destructive testing procedures. Introduction

CE1.1 This episode describes a position that I currently occupy. After completion of my

CE1.3 Since I joined the organization my task has been quality Control Inspector for Welding & Painting activities for Oil & Gas. I am tasked to implement company quality control procedures

and plans for providing the more efficient onsite work and maintaining the quality standards that apply to onsite work and ensuring proper implementation. My role is to inspect, test, and sample materials, parts, or products for defects and any deviations from specifications. I discard anything that does not meet with company standards, including products, materials, and equipment used by the company in processing. I also observe production operations and equipment to ensure that specifications are being met and to make or order necessary adjustments to processes .I will then discuss results and findings with those in charge of the products, and recommend any required corrective actions.

Personal Engineering Activity

CE1.5 I started my position as a welding and painting inspector by reviewing AUT System Verification Documents and Inspecting Personal Qualifications. I verified all documentation to execute the work such as approved AUT procedures. Every day I ensure I Check the AUT Calibrations (Cal. IN & Cal. OUT) and as per the Procedures. I carry out online monitoring and evaluate the Scan result of Girth Welds Using Tomo Viewer. Witness & inspection of AUT, MUT activities, Review of AUT, MUT Documents & Has the authority to reject defective work and Carried out the Weekly Auditing

CE1.6 For welding the following is the role I play in the industry based on my academic qualification.

•Review the WPS & PQR. Vitness the WPQT & Mechanical Test. Check that all onshore/offshore-related QA/QC work is carried out in accordance with the approved PQP and Inspection & Test plan.

•Check all documentation to execute the work such as approved welding procedures, Quality Control procedures, NDT procedures, Codes; standards are available at work site.

•Check that all applicable equipment is calibrated and has valid certification.

•Check installation processes are carried out in accordance with approved procedures & specification & Inspection and confirmation of welding consumables as per the specifications.

•Witness & inspection of all Welding activity, Review of Inspection Documents & Has the authority to reject defective work.

CE1.7 In painting and coating the roles I play in the company are

•Review the Painting / Coating Procedure. Verify / Review all onshore/offshore-related Painting / Coating work is carried out in accordance with the approved PQP and Inspection & Test plan.

•Ensure all documentation to execute the work such as approved Painting / Coating procedures, Quality Control Codes & standards are available at work site.

•Verify that all applicable equipment is calibrated and has valid certification.

•Check Painting / Coating Application processes are carried out in accordance with approved procedures & specification. Inspection and confirmation of Painting /Coating, Blasting Materials as per the specifications

•Check and Witness of Profile, Salt Test, Wet Film Thk. Dry Film Thk. Adhesive Test, Peel Test & Holiday Test.

•Witness & inspection of all Painting / Coating activities, Review of Inspection Documents & Has the authority to reject defective work.

CE1.8 the whole experience in Induspect Pty Ltd provided me with greater understanding of a professional environment also has improved my ability to utilize a systems approach to problems and to design an operational performance. The roles have played as discussed above show my professional abilities to deal with practical problems and also my ability to introduce an efficient QA/QC for an organization such as Induspect Pty Ltd Perth.
