Stressed out, depressed, unmotivated, easily distracted under
30s. Lazy, surgically attached to a mobile, can't handle
customer complaints, job-hopping and always asking "why do
I have to”
� Why is this relevant to the web industry?
Summary
� Look at generations Y, Z and AO. How each generation
performs best in the work environment.
� Generation gap. What we need to do/change in order to the
best out of the next generation

Work with Generations � Baby boomers 1946-64 Gen X 1965-81
� Gen Y – The millennial, net generation1980- 2003 (Could be 1976-2000?)
How to keep Gen Y Employees:
1. Throw them into the deep end on their first day 2. Publicly reward junior team members who are doing a great job3. Ask frequent questions. 4. Give them personal attention - Constant contact 5. Emphasize long-term rewards, and set an example along with
rapid advancement and a competitive salary. 6. Short-term projects. Reducing boredom. 7. Cubicle Shackles8. Mentor Programs and Leadership Training9. Maintain Flexibility10. Fire toxic employees or those who are not performing
immediately, especially if they have any interaction with younger people.
Generation Gap:Changes from boomers, gen x and y to gen z and ao

� Design QR codes, complete a risk assessment, email it whilst on the way to mentoring your next staff member/student, scan documents, save a tree and have plenty of time to go for a run before you go back to start work, then………. study in the evening.
