cannot advertise.




So I'm almost certain this has left you scratching your head and wondering...




"How can I Promote My Avon Business Online?

How do I market my Avon business on the internet WITHOUT getting into trouble?"




*ding-dong* "AVON LADY!"

Man I can remember those days when my great-grandma used to get that infamous

doorbell ring.




I remember being so excited to see what all kinds of goodies Grandma had in her Avon bag and it was a REAL treat whenever she ordered me something such as the flavored lip glosses

or some bubble bath!




Yep, Avon has been around for a LONG time.In fact, try 127 years!

That's a long time to have been in the business of making women look and feel beautiful.




Now like many companies, Avon has created a pretty strong brand for itself and they want to do everything in their power to honor and

protect that brand and their name.




This includes limiting what Representatives can do when it comes to marketing and promoting

their Avon businesses.




I was reading over their advertising policy and a few of the things that stuck out to me were:




1. "...you may not:- - Use a personal homepage to advertise Avon products or promote your Avon business

- - As a Representative, you may not use, purchase or register any domain names, URLs, keywords, metatags or e-mail addresses that include, in whole or in part, the Avon name or any of Avon’s trade-marks...




2. Without limitation, you may not:

- - Purchase a “keyword” from a search engine or other online service that comprises or includes the word “Avon”or any other Avon trade-mark...




YE-EOUCH!What the *bleep* is a rep to do in our

current technological age with stipulations like THAT? Right?




Well I feel your pain because I, TOO, come from a company that does not allow us to use the company name nor promote our

products via personal websites. But I had to find out the hard way.




When I first joined my company, I just KNEW that with what I know about marketing

online I could DOMINATE the search engines for my company name as well as the names

of our individual products.




And I was on my way! I had started targeting some of our product names as well as the

company and I was seeing my content on the first page of Google!




But, it was a short-lived victory - apparently "THEY" saw me there too and next thing I

knew, I got both a phone call AND a letter in the mail stating I needed to take it down!




"ARG!! All that hard work gone Down the drain", right?




Nope, WRONG!




See, I'm a smart & savvy Internet Chick and I know how to get around such "technical difficulties"!

I've learned ways to still be able to promote myself and my business ONLINE without

getting into hot water with my company and I'd like to help YOU- my Avon Representative

friend - to do the same!




So basically, here's what I had to do and what YOU'LL need to do as well IF you want to be

able to successfully promote your Avon business online:




1. Figure out a way to use "other" words that still conveyed what you’re trying to say but

without using the company or product name(s). For example…




Instead of saying, “ANEW CLINICAL Advanced Wrinkle Corrector”, say “wrinkle corrector”

or “wrinkle treatment” or…




Instead of “Avon Solutions NurturaReplenishing Cream”, say “moisturizing

cream” or “skin nourishing cream”.

I’m telling you, if you target the RIGHT words, this really works… I’m a testimony to that, as

you’ll see in just a bit!




2. Create content that my potential customers would be interested in and then point them to relative company products... again, without actually naming the products




3. Get that content in front of the eyes of potential customers!




Listen, I know what it's going to take in order to get online exposure to your Avon business.

I've done it myself with my own business and again, my company is ALSO strict about allowing the name of the company and

products to be used when marketing online.
