• We have grant funding to start 100 CBIs per year for the next several years– The purpose of which is to be a catalyst to reach the Healthy PeopleThe purpose of which is to be a catalyst to reach the Healthy People
goals:• 75% of employers to have an active and outcomes-oriented health promotion
program in place• 75% of employees at said employers actively participating
• CBIs are the most effective and efficient method for developing numerous employer relationships resulting in the:– Most significant impact on improving the health of the community– Most significant way to generate the most financial rewards for yourMost significant way to generate the most financial rewards for your
participation• While Wellness Consultants are not limited to developing
relationships in a given CBI, participation in a CBI is a preferred methodology for business development as we’ll need multiplemethodology for business development as we ll need multiple Coaches and Consultants to work with the employers– As a Wellness Consultant, you are the recruitment team to find the
Corporate Health Coaches and Risk Management Consultants to work with Grant-participating employers and their employees!work with Grant participating employers and their employees!
• How do I decide if I want to form a new CBI or plug into an existing one?g– First, visit with corporate about the current status of
CBIs in your community– Second, determine if you would rather be a facilitator of , y
a CBI or just a participant• Role of the CBI Facilitator
– Typically a combo RMC/Wellness Consultantyp y– Facilitates the creation and oversight of the local
Advisory Board– A very visible, empowering role– Expect to dedicate an average of an hour or two per
week to the CBI Facilitator role• More information about CBIs on the Grant’s website:
www.healthpeople2010grant.org
• Simply stated, how does a CBI unfold?– A defined geographic area is “chartered” (formed and grant-g g p ( g
funded)• Requires a designated facilitator
– Advisory Board created• 9 persons with about half local Coaches and Consultants and other• 9 persons with about half local Coaches and Consultants and other
half key stakeholders– Symposium and initial Advisory Board meeting held
• Symposium is effective in both educating Consultants and Coaches as well as serving as an opportunity for others interested in the fieldas well as serving as an opportunity for others interested in the field of corporate wellness to learn more
– Employers are surveyed (and again annually)– RMCs meet with survey participants to conduct a “gap
l i ” t l i diff b t t ianalysis” to explain difference between current programming and what is needed to earn the “Healthy Workplace” designation
• As ~90% of the time the grant will fund the programming needed to l th RMC i l d t d lt tclose the gap, RMC simply serves as an educator and consultant—
not a sales person as no cost to the employer to participate• ~50% of the employers will get involved after the gap analysis
Making money—it’s quick and easy, really!
• Pick a Symposium to invite prospects to– Select one already scheduled (see www.hp2010grant.org) OR– Visit with corporate about other markets eligible for a SymposiumVisit with corporate about other markets eligible for a Symposium
• Identify prospects to invite– Obtain a list from corporate
• Provided if you agree to call all to “perfect the list”:C ll t b i fl i t d th G t d ll t i f ti i it th t– Call to briefly introduce the Grant and collect information so we can invite them to the Symposium:
» Confirm contact person» Confirm address and fax» Obtain email address
If obtained email address email Symposium invitation– If obtained email address, email Symposium invitation– Update the list with new information and email weekly updates back to corporate
• Once you have finished perfecting the list, we’ll send a fax to all the prospects (on our dime) to assist in your recruitment efforts
– Promote in other ways, i.e., LinkedIn, Craig’s List, FaceBook, local networking, etc.
• Follow up with the Symposium attendees after the event to see if they would like to bump up to the Coaching Program or become a RMC (generating even more commissions for you)(g g y )
• Scenario A: Let’s look at a reasonable income projection for you working on inviting prospects to one Symposium with 250 targeted health and ellness prospectstargeted health and wellness prospects
• Symposium registrations– 3% (8) register for morning session only
• $160 for you (8 x $20)y ( )– 3% (8) register for full day/Certification
• $320 for you (8 x $40)• Of the 16 who attend, half bump up to a more significant role
4 become RMCs– 4 become RMCs• $500 (4 x $125)
– 4 become Corporate Health Coaches• $1,000 (4 x $250)
$1 980 in income for you from one Symposium without ever• $1,980 in income for you from one Symposium without ever leaving your home office.– Assuming 10 hours of time invested, you’ve made $198 per hour
• Work on one Symposium a week to keep the funnel filled!y p p
• Scenario B: Let’s look at a reasonable income projection for you when you have a Wellness Consultant doing the same as you did on the prior slide
• Of the 16 who attend the Symposium, half bump up to a more significant role
4 b RMC– 4 become RMCs• $250 (4 x $62.50) override commissions
– 4 become Corporate Health Coaches• $500 (4 x $125) override commissions$ ( $ )

R b thi t k (0) h f ti– Remember this took zero (0) hours of your time• Get four Wellness Consultants generating one Symposium
per week and you are earning $12,000 in monthly passiveincome!income!
• Rather it be for feeding Symposiums or simply doing d h i i h iad hoc recruiting, encourage the recruitment
conference calls to help the prospect make a small step forward
C f ll f b i h– Conference calls prevent you from being the message—just be the messenger
• Conference calls are held four days a week for prospects to nderstand roles/benefits and forprospects to understand roles/benefits and for experienced VPs to answer their questions– Details on www.healthypeople2010grant.org
H t d ’t d t j i C f• However, prospects don’t need to join a Conference Call before registering for a Symposium so don’t make a necessary step—just use when needed
