The New Way to send Weekly Letters

Starting week beginning Jan 7

This is how it works.

1 You get a link in a STAFF ROOM message as always.

2. This takes you to a SIACCO.

3. You assign the SIACCO to the students

The link from the STAFF ROOM will take you to the SIACCO

You assign it by clicking here.

And then you get a choice of who to assign it to. You can assign it to groups of people or to individuals. Weeklies will almost always be assigned to groups.

You assign The Beginners Weekly to all groups that have A1 or A2 in their name.Just click the boxes.

Then confirm

You assign to the general Weekly Letter to all the other groups apart fromstudents on MES courses. Just click the boxes

You assign to the Business English Weekly to all the other groups apart fromstudents on MES courses. Just click the boxes

Clicking brings you to the final confirmation page

You get to CONFIRM again.

Now the SIACCO will appear as an Extra Activity in the Students’ Learning Space

And that’s it.

Easy, wasn’t it?

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are we doing this? Isn’t it just complicating things?

We’re doing it to make it less complicated for the students.The more integration we have within the students’ Learning Space, the better the student experience will be. Eamonn hasTested the idea. It works!

Why do we have the link in the STAFF ROOM? Why don’t we just go straight to the SIACCO?

Because the SIACCO may be done before the Weekly is put online. Only when both the Weekly is live and the SIACCO is ready will the link appear in the STAFF ROOM.

Do I have to create the SIACCOS?

No.

At the moment Joe & Michelle are doing the Beginners SIACCOS, Wesley & Gina are doing the General and Paul & Eamonn Business English SIACCOS.

That being said, they would be grateful to hear any suggestions you may have.
