Buy Waterproofing Membrane Internal Wet Area Waterproofing Durotech Coatings are formulated to protect homes and buildings against dirt, fading, chalking and even the cold temperature. Our exterior coating system will completely reface any home's exterior walls regardless of surface condition, allowing homes to breathe. That means no more worries about damp walls, peeling paint, mould or bleaching. Our range of home exterior products meets high standards of protection and the range is technically manufactured for exterior use on cement rendering surfaces as well as various other substrates. The Durotech Breathable range provides a self-stabilizing textured matt finish that has excellent adhesion to previously painted and porous surfaces. The coating is water-repellent, breathable, algae resistant, UV Stable, resistant to mildew, self-cleaning and very easy to use. Methods of Coating Bricks, Masonry and Cement Render: Can be coated with two coats of water-based acrylic finish without a sealer. However, with some bricks, a brownish to violet color can appear on the surface after coating. Once the bricks are dry, patch the affected area with an oil-based sealant and repaint the bricks. Concrete Tiles: Before Waterproofing Coating over existing tiles eliminate moss, mould and lichen from the surface. Use a bleach solution followed by thorough water rinsing and scrubbing. Leave for 48 hours. Apply two layers of exterior water-based acrylic topcoat. If the area remains chalky, consult the manufacturer's installation instructions on the applicable Technical Data Sheet. Concrete Driveway/Patios: Bare concrete surfaces must be acid etched prior to coating by applying a solution of 1 quarter hydrochloric acid to 3 quarters of water. Be sure to always apply two layers of chosen coat. Colored oxide topped concrete may require more than one acid etch to create enough porosity for the paint to adhere. When the concrete is dry, test it by pouring a small amount of water onto it. It must be absorbed rapidly. If water test fails, in that the water does not quickly soak into the substrate, duplicate the acid etching and repeat. Note: Bubbling and cracking in existing/new coatings caused by rising damp/moisture can be stopped by our product; "Etched Primer ‘3 in 1'". A top coat of standard house paint only would no t likely work in this case because most house paints are not breathable. Fiberglass sheeting: Corrugated fiberglass and plastic sheeting used on pergolas and shade houses can be coated with an exterior water-based acrylic paint. Sheets should be cleaned with a steel wool pad and a mild solution of detergent in water. It should be rinsed and dried properly before coating. Please consult Durotech for details regarding special primers which may be required when coating non-porous substrates such as PVC and some Metals. Fibrous Cement sheeting: Coat the FC Sheeting with two coats of exterior water-based acrylic paint. Older, unpainted areas may require surface cleaning before painting. The use of oil-based sealants is often not recommended, unless fully cured. Please consult your supplier for details on priming alternative substrates.
