Wishing You A Green Christmas & New Year

The Christmas & New Year period is traditionally one of the busiest of the year for our Waste Management Services. In light of this, the following arrangements have been specially organised to cater for the extra demands on our services.

Household Waste Collections - Black and Brown Bins:

Green Bin Collections:

Household bin collections will take place as normal throughout the Christmas period. For further information on Waste Collection Services, see Aertel Page 629 or log onto www.dublincity.ie/wastecalendar to view the waste collection schedule for your house address.

Householders whose green bin is full may place additional dry recyclable material beside their green bin on collection day provided it is presented in a safe, neat and secure manner. This extended service will be available to Dublin City Council customers up and until the 13/01/12. Please refer to www.greenbin.ie for further details.

Glass Banks:

In addition to our Recycling Centres there are over 115 Glass Bank Sites located across the City. Some of these sites also accept plastic bottles, textiles and aluminium cans. Please ensure you take bags and boxes home after depositing materials – littering is an offence and can result in a heavy fi ne.

Christmas trees will be accepted free of charge at the following locations from 3rd January to 22nd January 2012 (refer to the Bring Centre & Recycling Centres opening times).

Don’t forget to use your brown bin this Christmas – brown bins should be used for the disposal of food and garden waste only. Using your brown bin saves money and the Environment, it’s a win-win!
