Undercover Public Relations
“Once a Force, Always a Force”
The making of a new
UK Police ServiceCarrie Costanzo
StrategyAfter meeting with the head officials of the force and
reviewing the film that was released to the public, we would think of solutions to combat the allegations and negative accusations made of male officers in the police force.
In a public statement made to the city our department protects, we will address and admit to certain problems within our unit, mainly addressing problems pin-pointed in the documentary.
ObjectiveOur overall objective is to make the citizens that we protect,
respect us as an honorable police force that is able and willing to do the duty we have to public safety. We have motivation to change the current attitudes and behaviors
of the UK Police Service.
We want the people to know our intentions. To eliminate pornography altogether in our stations and possession
of any officers. To maintain and enforce a no tolerance policy in affect to sexual
harassment and belittlement towards female coworkers. To create harsher punishments in relation to any officers not taking
their job seriously (i.e. playing games while on the job).
Tactics
Go door-to-door to each citizen and asking what they want out of the police force in terms of protection.
Have officers actually meet the people they protect in their designated areas of patrol.
Hold sexual violence clinics for victims of rape and abuse taught by officers to regain the trust of women in such cases.
Hold a press conference/public address where changes to the force can be heard.
Create an interactive website for the public.
Budget BreakdownThis budget will be spent throughout
different programs in an effort to give money where it is most needed to help improve the police force.
The most money will be spent on new training programs for officers designed to change their mindset into ideal law enforcement officials who are trustworthy, hardworking, responsible, receptive, understanding, quick, and accessible.
Other expenditures will be spent on the programs geared toward winning back the public into trusting our police force.

Evaluation
This entire effort will be monitored closely by the media.
The authority the public can assess as truthful, as in the head officials will be residing over the entire project making sure all that is planned
can be implemented in a thorough timely manner.
To record public opinion we shall have polls online and hardcopies available at the stations as to gain a wide
understanding of the campaigns success.
Issues To DisproveOut of affiliation with the force, certain truths need
to stated for the representative to break through the wall of disgust and mistrust put up by the
public towards the UK Police Service. The representative must ease into each new measure of the
campaign and be completely open and understanding to the needs of the people. (Shake hands, greet them, warm attitude, open mind, provide information often, be accessible, be honest).
The representative must also keep firm the implementations and goals of the campaign at first hand.
AudienceIn an effort to gain respect from all members of the community in which we protect, we need to reach each and everyone of the people residing
here. We will send appropriate representatives from the service to non-
English speaking immigrant communities and distribute pamphlets in their language that outline our message to become a better force.
For action, we will get the communities involved by holding meetings and polls within them. Our goal is to have the people believe in their hearts that they are being protected by a strong, healthy, fair police service. We want the people to not only see the changes that we are implementing but to feel them.
