Gutter guard• The gutter guards are used to avoid one of the major

disadvantage of gutter (i.e.) coagulation of leaves and debris

• The gutter guards are installed along with gutter for various benefits.

• Some of the types of gutter guards are listed in the following slides.

Type #1• Screen or mesh gutter guard: the gutter glove of the guard

are often installed below the shingles and cover the gutter completely. This type is most often made up of stainless steel.

• This type of guard is of very less weight, that it can be easily installed and the lifetime is also more.

• This type of guard is composed of numerous minute holes at the top which prevents even the small debris from entering the gutter which then prevents coagulation.

Type #2• Reverse curve: the reverse curve type is the fully covered

guard without the holes.

• Here the leaves and debris falls into the ground and the water flows straight way in to the guard without any obstacle.

• This type of guards are formed with any type of materials and they are mostly preferred in the sliding roof architecture of the house

• This is otherwise called as gutter helmets.

• Bottle brush gutter guard: this type of gutter guard is the bristle type thing. Here the bristle type guard is placed inside the gutter.

• This is made of black color needle. These pointed needles can easily trap the leaves and debris and allows flow of water easily inside the gutter without the interruption. This is also opted in the snow fall season.

• This is very inexpensive type of gutter guard and the installation process is also very easy.

Type#4

• Foam gutter guard: this is very light weight material among all the gutter guards, as the name suggests the materials is the sponge which is arranges throughout the length of the gutter.

• As the atoms in here are loosely arranged the water can flow through it very easily, as the sponge absorbs the moisture. the leaves and debris get settle at the top layer of the gutter.

• This also helps in preventing the formation of mildew, fungus, molds, etc….

Type#5

• Nylon gutter guard: this is also called as flo-free gutter guard. They are fitted into the gutter without the help of the shingles, they can be easily replaced.

• This is fitted in the upper portion so that the flow of water is not interrupted and therefore the water can be stored for later usage.

• ¾ inch is always the preferable choice of the gutter. They provide ultimate strength, thus the durability is also increased.

Type #6

• Non-gutter cover: this is same as the aluminum gutter guard, it is also called as the louvered gutter guard . This type is used for the houses where are downspouts are not in the vicinity.

• The louvers breaks the heavy sheet of water into small drops through an window blind. Thus the rain falling on the roof goes into the gutter in the form of drops.

• The shingles are utilized in the installation process and they serve as the excellent preventer of the leaves and debris.
