Our Training Ethos

• We are committed to promoting anti-discriminatory practice in training. This

commitment has enabled us to develop strategies and ways of working that remove barriers to learning and encourage inclusion. We use participatory approaches, encouraging people to draw on their experience to develop their own and each other's learning. Sweet trainers are skilled in allowing learners to discover their own internal barriers that prevent their personal and continuous development as managers.

• We deliver training in varied ways to ensure the engagement of all including; icebreakers, energisers and quizzes while our case studies, role plays and scenarios are always up-to-date and relevant to the topic.

• We enable people to use theory to inform practice. When presentations are

given they are short, relevant and evidence based. Participants are always given opportunities to reflect on new information and apply it to their own experience and workplace.

• Each course involves learners setting immediate and medium-term

individual SMART goals to take back to the workplace. These can then monitored by his/her line manager.

• The recognition of the diversity of backgrounds, differing learning styles (activist/theorist/ reflector/pragmatist) and individual preference for small or large group activity runs through all of our courses.
