Tools
jigsaw
• This is the tool we chose for most of the cutting during the construction process due to the pure ease of monuverbiltiy and ease of producing curved edge without the need of sanding whereas with a hack saw the line I would produce would probably be jagged and not how I wanted it to be. Speed is also a bonus of using jigsaw, for cutting the sink holes this tool was perfect for the job.
Circular saw
• This was mostly used for cutting large lengths of wood down to the sizes we needed such as the legs for the sinks..again this is preferred to using a hack saw as it is quicker and neater, and preferred to the mitre saw, as we don't have a mitre saw so the use of this would impossible.
Handheld drill
• These were easier to use than the larger pillar drill for ease of switching drill bits and easier to position and possibly quicker to use too.
Butt joints
• We chose these as they are the joints used tables and flat surfaces creating strength in the structure to support weight unlike the mitre joint which cannot support large amounts of weight from above.
