DESCRIPTION

This catalog has all the important information when it comes to the Enovative AutoHot demand controller. The AutoHot demand controller is an on-demand pump control that saves energy and water by only circulating hot water through your circulation when it is needed. It uses advanced sensors and controls to reduce pump runtime from 24 hours a day, down to on average an hour per day or less. You will save electricity, natural gas, and water.

ENERGY LOSSES IN A CENTRAL DOMESTIC HOT WATER SYSTEM

Approximately 65% of the total energy used in a CDHW system is lost through inefficiencies in

the heating and distribution.

As much as 34% is lost in the recirculation loop, primarily from excessive pump operation.

Most property owners and managers under-evaluate the cost of

constant pump operation by only considering the retail price

(~$400)

The actual (hidden) costs of operating a pump continuously in a

multi-unit building are quite staggering, especially when added

up over the average life (3-5 years) of the product.

THE SOLUTION: Operate Your Distribution with

THE ENOVATIVE SYSTEM "the best demand controlled hot water circulation system available that works in commercial and multifamily buildings."

A pump only needs to run when hot water is not

available, AND when someone is using a hot water

fixture – THIS is called recirculating your

hot water on-demand.

Pumping on demand will:

Put an end to the energy & cost intensive effects of

running the pump when it’s not needed.

Reduce your maintenance costs by extending the

life of your water heating system, from the pipes,

to the tanks, to the water heaters.

Recirculation on-demand is the best balance

between getting hot water quickly while not

wasting energy and overworking

the water heating system.

Annual Costs

Do you keep your lights on when you leave your home?

A pump doesn’t need to run when no one is using hot water.

Do you turn on your lights when there is available sunlight?

A pump doesn’t need to run when hot water is already available

delivers hot water as consistently

as a pump that operates continuously, but at a

much higher efficiency- without any noticeable

change to the user.

TIMELY HOT WATER

ENERGY SAVINGS

average runtime has been recorded

to be between 30 – 60 minutes per day as opposed

to standard 24/7 pumps that run whether or not

anyone is using hot water.

By activating the pump only when there is user

demand, can save 15 – 30% of

natural gas used by the water heater and 95 –

99% of the pump electricity.

SMART TECHNOLOGY

operates by using sensors. A hot

water demand sensor (flow sensor) instantly

transmits to whenever a user

demands hot water (opens a hot water tap).

Another sensor continuously relays to

. the current temperature of the hot

water that is available in the line.

EXTENDED PUMP LIFE

Because . registers significant

amounts of downtime, the product life cycle

of the system is up to 12 – 15 years.

“7.1 Efficient Hot Water Distribution (2 points). Design and install an energy-efficient hot water distribution

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS

The Enovative system has a flow sensor that is installed on the hot water supply that sends a signal every time a tenant opens a hot water faucet.

The Enovative also has a temperature sensor placed on the return line upstream from the pump.

When the temperature sensor reads that the circulation loop is above target temperature, the flow is bypassed and the pump remains off.

When the circulation loop is below target temperature and the flow is triggered the pump turns on delivering fresh hot water to the end user

within seconds.

City Cold Water Supply

Is heated to Approximately 140°F

Hot water is kept in storage until there is a demand for it

Flow sensor is installed on supply line, triggered by user demand

tracks hot water through a heat sensor on the return line, operating only when demand is combined with below target temperature
