Price, Product, Place and Promotion

I am challenging the marketing profession: the four Ps are being superseded by the four Cs
Content, Context, Connections and Community

Content Having just a brand name isn’t enough.
Adding rich media content to your product makes the product more attractive, more exciting and more
shareable.

Context Instead of presenting your content (read product) as
features, you place them in the context of the environment its being used in, or in the context of the
people who are using it.

Connections Putting your “Place” decisions into the context of Connections
will give you a different perspective. Distribution becomes networking, channels become links, market coverage becomes search engine optimisation and sales channels become social
networks.

Communities Taking it from a community perspective totally changes
the promotional landscape.Promotion is a tool to help you make your online
communities come to life.
