Predictive Maintenance practice for reliability Improvement

Infrared scanning

Typical Ultrasound Signals: CORONA- Uniformity in

Space and Amplitude TRACKING- Non Uniform

spacing between discharges ARCING- Long duration

discharges with little or no spacing

Major discharges would be due to loose connection, damaged portion ,Moisture ingress and improper CT mounting

• Any abnormality occurring in

electrical switch gears is dispersed through electrical discharge which is commonly referred as Ionization

• These discharges produce high frequency sound which is beyond the human audible range. Usually these high frequencies lie in the ultra sound region.
