job easier – A Navigator is an interface overlay that provides step-by-step guidance to users in the process of building plans. As plan builders perform their work through the Navigator, they track their progress by marking each step complete. Administrators can then rely on this tracking to see the overall status of the continuity programme, and to ensure that all plan builders are fulfilling their assignments.

Use of planning navigators reduces the time needed to train users, and is a powerful aid to plan maintenance. The administrator can set the navigator so that certain review areas are included in the plan maintenance activity, and all planners using the navigator will be directed to those selected areas to review and update.

In addition, the Navigator provides instruction on how to complete each step by incorporating industry best practices and methodology into plan construction based on the business continuity/disaster recovery skills and knowledge of SunGard’s experienced consultants and subject matter experts. This information can also be easily tailored to align with your organisation’s terminology and methodology if desired.

Building dynamic, more effective plans – systematically – LDRPS® offers pre-defined standards to leverage when building recovery strategies, including a library of more than 200 reports used to present the information in your plan.

Hosted application recovery is tested regularly, addressing functionality, information integrity, performance, and backup access processes.

Easy to use

Individuals responsible to build and maintain plans will use LDRPS® frequently, but the administrator for LDRPS® will use it almost every day. Ease of use is important to these users.

LDRPS® is designed to simplify plan building, administration and maintenance by allowing you to:

Build up planning dictionaries with the import capability. This saves time, both for administrators as well as for plan builders, and improves the accuracy and integrity of the information within your plans.

Share information across plans, eliminating record duplication. With LDRPS® you can bring a vendor contract into the documents dictionary, and link it to the vendor associated with the contract; or create a common list of employee skills or experience (called attributes) and link one or more attributes to a specific employee.

Update and replace record data, wherever the original record is used within LDRPS®, without disruption to your plans. The Related Records feature allows you to change information about use of a specific record throughout plans within the system.

Track planning progress, and quickly gauge where attention may be required. In addition, when it’s time for plan maintenance, the administrator can reset steps in the plan navigator, indicating to the plan builder where maintenance should be directed.
