Story of Jobelyn African Traditional Medicine
For the past 20 years, Health Forever Product Limited has aimed considerable and remarkable scientific and evidence based efforts into proving the multi-functional use of Jobelyn, an African Traditional Medicinal preparation that has been in use for centuries by natives of South Western Nigeria as folk medicine in different forms, to treat and cure different types of diseases including:• Anemia,• Sickle-Cell Anemia,• Diabetes,• Arthritis,• Cancer,• Hypertension,• Stroke,• Neuropsychiatric problems,• HIV/AIDs.
It was in the year 1996 when we, as a family, began the journey of embarking upon preliminary investigations to bring value, usage and science to this incredible cure-all possibility for Jobelyn.
Over the course of the next 20years, we were and continue to be able to provide definitive proof that a single product was indeed capable of addressing an astonishing broad spectrum of human health problems. Our conclusion was based on several scientific research studies which revolves around the concept of OXIDATIVE STRESS.
The oxidative stress (OS) can be defined in terms of an imbalance between the oxidant and antioxidant systems. The presence of oxidative species challenges the cellular systems. Their responses may create conditions that are favorable for the replication of not only HIV but also different types of other viruses. In fact, the intracellular redox environment must be more reducing than oxidative environment to maintain optimal cell function.
Extensive research during last two decades has revealed the mechanism by which continued oxidative stress can lead to chronic inflammation, which in turn could mediate most chronic diseases including cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular, neurological and pulmonary diseases.
Scientists argue that therapies can be advanced by understanding the intricate biology of diseases (which includes organelles, cell compartments, structures and molecular aspects) and its applicability to other conditions. Such is the commonality of oxidative stress that organelle damage in one disease may occur via similar mechanisms in another disease. For example, aberrant apoptosis, cell signaling and receptor mediated responses arise in a wide spectrum of disease that are either caused by oxidative imbalance or successfully ameliorated with anti-oxidants.
There is also a fundamental need to understand the basic steps and pathways inherent in the oxidative stress in many chronic diseases. This also offers a focal point, as oxidative stress can be ameliorated with pharmacological or natural agents designed to counteract oxidative stress. It is assumed that food-based antioxidants circumvent the side effects associated with pharmacological antioxidants.
