The film begins with loud and dramatic music in the background already suggesting that the film is going to be action packed and have violence. There is also a close up of medieval like armor enforcing the idea that film is not set in the modern day. It then cuts to an over the shoulder shot of the armor implying that the main protagonist of this film is the character within the armor, this also connotes to the audience that the action within the film will be done through weapons such as swords and knives. Very subtle but still visible there is fire flickering in the background, reinforcing that this film is an action packed film as a common convention of the genre action is to include explosions and fire as it connotes danger. It slowly fades out and then fades back in and the audience see a close up of a crow flapping it's wings the inclusion of the crow hints at mysterious and dark plot as crows are represented as an omen.

Following this, there is multiple close ups of the armor it then cuts to another close up of a sword being held this reinstates the idea the action of this film will be fantasy based. Throughout, the trailer there are fire sparks surrounding the armor which gives a sense of destruction and peril. The armor itself is enigmatic as it creates curiosity and entices the audience as they will want to know who is underneath the armor and so will be interested throughout the opening. In one shot the audience can see a fight in the background this suggests to the audience that the person is currently fighting in a war.

In addition, to this the opening just turns into one large montage of various close ups and shots of the armor, notably in some shots rather than being a close up of the armor there is a close up of what seems to be a red dress connoting that there may be some romance involved in the plot, but this also suggests that the person in the armor maybe female. Finally, in the last shot there is side mid shot of the armor shattering to pieces possibly signifying insanity and madness, but it could also represent an individual's

personal battles as it the armors headpiece that shatters. In conclusion, the opening is somewhat dull as it does not reveal too much and there is too many repeated shots of the same thing which the audience will lose interest in.
