Important Quote…

Page 4: Skills and Capability in a Digital Age by Cameron Stewart

• We’re leaving the Industrial Age

• This is probably the “Network Age”…

• … or it might be the “Social Age”

• Rise of AI

• Importance of relating to the user rather than the product

• And all this Agile stuff

A New Epoch

Page 5: Skills and Capability in a Digital Age by Cameron Stewart

• No longer recruiting tech skills

– They go out of date

– No-one does one job for life anymore

– People need to be available to help in any way

– Machine support for workers is growing

– We can train the right people in the tech if needed

• Now focussed on

– Organisational fit

– Capability

– Ability to grow into new work as it arises

• Transferable skills, knowledge and experience are vital

Teams Are Changing

• And what about Artificial Intelligence?

• No more education required?

• Maybe we won’t need to learn because the machine

“knows”

• We’ll just need to know how to use the machine in the

most efficient way

• [Or maybe we will just leave the machines to it]

AI and the Middle Distance

• Bill (quotes So-cratz):

"The only true wisdom

consists in knowing that

you know nothing".

• Ted: That's us, dude.
