1. Application for admission (Online is recommended but we do offer paper application as an alternative)
2. $35 application fee
3. High school transcript, plus any college transcript if dually enrolled
4. ACT or SAT score (usually included on high school transcript)

• Admission status is provided within three weeks from the date all application materials received.
• Students may check admission status online.
• Information on housing, financial aid, and our SOAR program is mailed to admitted students.

Core curriculum• Four units of English• Three units of math• Three units of social studies• Two units of science• One unit of a visual and performing art• Three additional units of core courses

Freshman Scholarships
• Selection is based on combination of ACT/SAT scores and GPA or class rank.
• The February ACT is the last test date we use for ACT score. (with the exception of the specific scholarship programs with earlier application deadlines)
• Sixth or seventh semester transcripts can be used for the GPA or class rank.
• If you are eligible for scholarships, notification is included in your letter of admission.
• Financial Aid will follow up with additional information on renewal and acceptance criteria.

• All single students under 21 years of age who have fewer than 30 hours of transferable credit are required to reside in University housing.
• All other students are welcome as space permits.
University Housing Policy
NOTE: students living with parents/grandparents within a 60-mile radius of Missouri State may request an exception to this policy.This policy stems from a long history of academic and student success within the residence halls.
• If you’re admitted to Missouri State by March 1:– Welcome letter mailed upon admission– Housing contract available online by December 1
EXCITING NEWS!!– If you are admitted before February 12 you may pick
your own room beginning January 25.– If you are admitted after February 12 you may pick your
room after completing your housing contract online.

• If you’re admitted to Missouri State after March 1:
– Contract packet mailed upon admission.– Once you go online and complete the housing contract, you
may pick your room at the same time!

• Step One: Your initial housing priority date is equal to your admission date, so APPLY EARLY to Missouri State!
• Step Two: Complete the housing contract online and make your payment within the two-week deadline. If we receive the housing contract after the deadline, the date received in our office will become the new housing priority date.

• If you’re admitted to Missouri State and submit your housing contract and make your payment before the end of this year, you’re are more likely to be able to pick one of your top three or four residence hall preferences.
• Earlier admission will allow you an earlier time period to go online and select your own room!
