In this market, glass fabrics are not only used as facing for mineral wool but also to offer additional and specific properties according to the end use.there are three different areas in this business: hvAc, marine and ceiling/wall covering.HVAc (High Ventilation Air condition): the basic specifications of our black glass fabrics dedicated to this application, provides a maximum of mechanical resistance. consequently maintenance cost descreases while keeping a good acoustic level performance.Marine: In this particular sector, glass fabrics are mainly white and have to comply with the International marine organization standards (Imo) for specific

fire resistance. they are dedicated for interior trim and to insulate special rooms in ships such as engine rooms, boilers …ceiling / wall covering: for special areas in public buildings such as schools, sport arenas, offices… our range with patterned glass fabrics brings a decorative aspect as well as technical properties to the final insulation: resistance to punching, fire resistance… and, if needed, colour.

we can also add on the glass fabric support properties such as fungi resistance, hydrophobic treatment and also offer a hot-melt glue coating. this gives possibility to convert the fabric directly with temperature and pressure on your thermal insulation material.

with the development of chemistry, technical adhesives became a very competitive means of assembly compared to welding or mechanical processes, especially when the adhesive mass support participates in the performance. As a double-sided tapes, we offer thin scrims (gRec ® types, namely scrim with controlled thickness). this helps to reduce the adhesive weight applied by our customers, to bring more adhesive tapes in the same diameter of roll and to save cost

while providing the required dimensional stability. our range allows to serve the requirements of the different segments of these markets: packaging, automotive, building, aeronautics or industry.for high-performance applications (electrical insulation for instance), with our variety of thin and tight glass fabrics we offer supports which are flexible, stable and easy to cut into ribbons without fraying.

flooring for public buildings - like hospitals, airports, sport halls or public transport - require coatings able to handle professional fitting, intensive maintenance and heavy wear. In particular, Porcher products are designed to exceed the market expectations in terms of durability and comfort. scrims insure reliability in the Pvc-flooring manufacturing process while giving dimensional stability. the

performances of the final product highly rely on this stability. Porcher specifically developed the advanced gRec® system (scrim with controlled thickness).gRec® allows up to 40% scrim thickness reduction while guaranteeing, for any width, mechanical performances of a standard grid.

Waterproofing

10

Porcher glass or polyester scrims are used to reinforce waterproofing membranes, dedicated to flat or inclined roofs and swimming-pool liners.

the scrim significantly improves the tear strength, the punching resistance and the dimensional stability of the membranes.

Porcher scrims can be used on their own or in conjunction with a glass veil or non-woven mat to insure optimum resistance against extreme weather conditions without any damage in time.

Porcher reinforcement technology stays ahead of the competition thanks to an exceptional thickness/performance ratio allied to an unrivalled chemical impregnation know-how.

Porcher scrims perfectly bond to all polymer membranes made of Pvc, polyolefin, rubber or bitumen amongst others. they can also be designed to meet specific criteria involving conductivity or fireproofing for instance.

environmental regulations are becoming more and more stringent on gas emissions. Producers of carbon, asphalt, cement or refineries are amongst the targeted industrial processes pushed to be more effective at collecting particles.glass fabrics are the best option for operating temperatures between 150°c and 260°c. Pockets or sleeves made of glass fabrics filter the dust from the hot gas flowing through the fabric. the layers of hard dust accumulated on the surface

are then removed using a high frequency process.efficient filtration and long lasting products are highly needed in mechanical and reverse air cleaning installations. these requirements are neatly managed at Porcher through the appropriate choice of fiber, fabric construction and surface treatments.

coating

Porcher Industries manufacture a range of glass fabrics which can be coated by their customers. these fabrics can be supplied as a loomstate material or it can be finished with a suitable bonding agent. the agent is specifically made to ease the adhesion of subsequent coating layers. quality is of paramount importance for this application as even the smallest weaving defect can be revealed by the coating.
