After a hearty breakfast we visit Beersheba to visit the Park of the Australian Soldier, the British Cemetery where Australian, New Zealand and British soldiers lay at rest together, Tel es Saba where the NZ Mounted Rifles and some Australians took the high place, Chauvel’s Hill from where we can view the plain where the 800 Australian Light horsemen rode into history with their famous charge and the Biblical site of Abraham’s well. The Battlefields of BEERSHEBA (where the ANZAC soldiers defeated the entrenched Turkish Army in the Charge of the Light Horse in October 1917). Ancient biblical site at TEL SHEVA. Participate in a memorial to the Negev Brigade and visit the Park of the Australian Solider.

(which distinguished itself in the 1948 War of Independence) then participate in a wreath laying ceremony at the Commonwealth Cemetery in Beersheba and a and the recently unveiled Beersheba ANZAC Memorial. Today we ascend to the mighty fortress of MASADA, the site of the last heroic 3-year stand of 960 Jewish defenders against the Roman Empire. From its heights (by cable car) we enjoy tremendous views of Jordan and the Dead Sea. Then to Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered is our next stop. Short stop at David’s place of refuge from Saul, Ein Gedi before we check in to our Dead Sea Resort Hotel and enjoy a ‘float’ in the medicinal waters of the Dead Sea. Bookings for the mineral rich spa treatments must be made in advance. Overnight Dead Sea. (B-D)

Travel to the Jordan border crossing and enter the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan where we visit Bethany the traditional baptismal site where John The Baptist baptised. We continue in the steps of Moses as we travel the age old KINGS HIGHWAY to Madaba and its intricate Byzantine mosaics. Continuing north to MT NEBO where we will gaze into the PROMISED LAND as Moses did. Tonight a special banquet awaits us – a grilled dinner Bedouin style.(B-D) Overnight Amman.

After breakfast we travel the ancient KINGS HIGHWAY to PETRA. We visit the treasury, monastery, Roman Theatre, Royal tombs and the high place of sacrifice. Petra is MAGNIFICENT. Overnight in Petra. (B-D)

WEDNESDAY 21st MayWEDNESDAY 21st MayExodus takes us into the promised land via the Jordan valley to visit Jericho (Security permitting) and visit the Tel, Elisha’s Spring and view St George’s Monastery before we lunch at the Mount of Temptations restaurant. After lunch we travel the scenic Jordan Valley to visit Beit She’an where Saul’s headless body was hung on the gates of this Decapolis city. Our sojourn continues to the Sea of Galilee where we will overnight. Overnight Galilee. (B-D)

WEDNESDAY 21st MayWEDNESDAY 21st MayToday, we explore this historical area of Galilee. Remember how Jesus walked on the water? (Mark 4:35-41) Our special traditional sailing vessel will take us across the Sea of Galilee, stopping in the middle for a time of reflection and worship. Rejoice! Jesus is alive. We disembark at Nof Ginnosar a kibbutz located on the shores of the Galilee where we will see the remains of a boat from the time of Jesus. Arriving later to CAPERNAUM, the city of Jesus, we visit the ruins of the synagogue where Jesus performed many miracles. (Luke 4:31-37) We will visit ST PETER’S PRIMACY CHURCH. You will see the new excavations of ST PETER’S house (Luke 4:38-41) and visit TABGHA, where Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fishes to feed the multitudes (John 6:1-14) and later ascending to the top of the MOUNT OF BEATITUDES, (Matthew 5:1-12) where we will read the Sermon on the Mount. Enjoy a St Peter’s Fish lunch in a restaurant by the Sea of Galilee. Overnight Galilee. (B-L-D)

After breakfast we visit the MEGGIDO VALLEY, the large plain where the final battle of Armageddon is prophesied to take place. Our journey then takes us to Nazareth where Jesus grew to manhood passing the Church of Annunciation, (Luke 1:26-38) which covers the boyhood home of Jesus. We spend time at Nazareth Village recreating village lifestyle during the time of Jesus experiencing the Nazareth Jesus knew! From there we will visit the Mount of the Precipice where Jesus was driven by the crowd. (Luke 4:16-30) Next MT CARMEL and Muhraqa, where Elijah called down fire from Heaven to defeat the prophets of Baal. Overnight Haifa. (B-D)

SUNDAY 25th MaySUNDAY 25th MayWe continue on to the MEDITERRANEAN SEA PORT of CAESAREA, site of Herod’s Palace, home of Cornelius and where Paul was brought to trial. Take the scenic winding road through Wadi Sorek towards the ancient land of the Philistines. In the Valley of Elah, stop at the site of David’s victory over the Philistine champion, Goliath, and hear about this biblical event (Samuel 17:1- 58). Later, refresh your memory with the tale of Samson and Delilah ( Judges 16:1-20) as you proceed through the land of the Dan tribe to the wide Valley of Ayalon. At strategic Latrun you visit the MONASTERY OF THE TRAPPIST MONKS. Then, stop near the ruins of the basilica that is said to be the site of EMMAUS, where Jesus manifested himself to two of his disciples (Luke 24:13-35) before we begin our memorable assent UP TO JERUSALEM as the sun sets over the City of Gold. MONDAY 26th MayMONDAY 26th MayWe awaken in the city of the Great King. You can feel the atmosphere that sets Jerusalem apart from any other city in the world. We have a full day of touring Old Jerusalem, following in the footsteps of Jesus, including the MT OF OLIVES and the GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE. Entering into the OLD CITY through ST STEPHEN’S GATE we visit the POOL OF BETHESDA, where Jesus cured an invalid, and continue to view and visit the PRAETORIUM, site of the public trial and condemnation of Jesus. We continue through the picturesque Bazaar streets passing the Stations of the Cross along the VIA DOLOROSA.

We stop at the Pool of Siloam and onto the possible burial place of Jesus. Meander through the Old City streets to the Citadel of David. This afternoon our Jewish Quarter experience will include the Cardo, holy time at the WESTERN WALL, the most sacred site for the Jewish people, Temple Institute featuring authentically recreated Temple instruments, and the Burnt House a window into time past. The HERODIAN TUNNEL is now open for us to explore, and a scale model of the Temple Mount during the time of Herod is the highlight of our underground visit.

We tour New Jerusalem passing by the Israeli Knesset to the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls. We visit the MODEL CITY, site of a quarter acre replica model of Jerusalem in the time of Christ, including the Jewish Temple. We continue to YAD VASHEM HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL. This memorial is built in memory of the six million Jews lost in the Holocaust.Truly a moving experience! Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

This morning we explore the ancient City of David, Warrens Shaft, and cool down during the heat of the day with an expedition through Hezekiah’s Tunnel, exiting at the Pool of Siloam. said to be built over the home of John the Baptist’s parents. Enjoy a beautiful view of the valley and the surrounding wooded hills. Afternoon free in Jerusalem. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)
