Motive behind SECCON 2014

A participant’s insight

Attending a conference is a professionally rewarding experience. In addition to socializing with colleagues from other institutions and a trip to a possibly exotic locale, the two main reasons to attend a conference are to hear presentations and to converse with other Professionals. Listening to presentations will update of what others are doing (sometimes more clearly than the paper, and in any event with a slightly different spin and the ability to ask questions), will inspire working ideas of my own, and will expose different styles of presentation.

As career advances, I will learn that even though listening to the talks is extremely valuable, hallway conversations can be even more fruitful. I will share my experiences with others. I always return from a conference more excited about my work than when I left: it had become stale to me, but the excitement and admiration of others upon hearing of it reminded me how good it actually is. Moreover the motive are,

• to see the people who’ve written papers/Books I’ve read,

• to see what’s current in Security Services,

• to start to build relationships with others in the field,

• to tell people what you’re doing and to find out what they are doing, and

• to find out that I’m at least as smart and good as many of those Professionals.

Mustafa Ayub MughalManager Operations & Business Development

Monarch Security Services (Pvt.) Ltd.

• To avail an opportunity to learn from the learned.

• To have a knowhow of the latest trends in Security and how they can be utilised in best form in meeting the Business targets.

• How terrorism can affect the Business Model and know the recommended measures.

• To understand the Business threats related to Security aspects and mitigate sound and viable Risk Assessment.

• To know intention of the Government about Security in the oil & gas sector.
