The company’s main service is printing services from books to magazines and other materials that require printing.

Recording of transactions are done manually
They have difficulties in tracking sales record.
Records of clients and transactions are difficult to find.
Clients sometimes forgot the set deadline for their order,
which occupies space in the warehouse.
Clients have to go to the office to order the book, magazine
or material that they want to be printed.
A document management system which can make the
recording of client’s information and transaction easily.
Records of the existing clients can be accessed easily,
without writing it again in a separate document.
Tracking sales would be easier through analytics and
through the search function.
Instead of keeping hardcopy of documents, it is much easier
to access if they use they convert it into electronic
documents which can be easier to access.
Through the Pickup Scheduler, it will show to clients what
date their order have to be picked up and will remind them
the day before they pick up their order, that their order is for
ready for pick up.
The Online ordering system allows existing clients to order
online.

System Overview Our System SDMS(SPEED database management system) is a system that would help
SPEED printing press corp. in managing its files by letting its clients order via internet, which our system would take the info and process it to become a electronic order form which is automatically store into the server for safe keeping, our system is also capable of storing the files of the company’s past client so that when there is another order of the same file, the company would not need to get the softcopy from the client, the company would just retrieve the file from the database and start the printing process faster and thus having more time to accommodate other orders.
The SDMS would really help with the searching of files, they would only need 1 person to look for a certain file and that 1 person would only need to access the computer, and use the search feature to find the file, not like how they do things now, which is looking for files in numerous files cabinets, which sometimes is a very long and tiring thing to do. SDMS has also a certain feature that lets the client see when the pickup date for their order would be.
We targeted the sales, marketing and the ordering process of the company because we leaned that its those process that lots of problem arises, example is in the sales department, when they are looking for past transactions from their file cabinet, it some times takes them minutes and sometimes hours, which is affecting the whole performance of the company.
