In the spring of 1978, a Harvard Business School student, Dan Bricklin, came up with the idea for an interactive visible calculator

VisiCalc went on sale in November of 1979 and became immediately a big hit

In 1981, Software Arts made over $12 million in royalties from VisiCalc

In 1983, Lotus 1-2-3 was released. It was available exclusively for the IBM PC and other MS-DOS computers

Intuit was founded in 1983 by Scott Cook and Tom Proulx in Mountain View, California, USA

The software soon claimed up to 85 percent of the small business accounting software market

By 2000, Intuit had developed Basic and Pro versions of the software and, in 2003, started offering industry-specific versions

Improved income tracker, pinned notes, improved registration process and insights on homepage are some of the general changes for all versions of QuickBooks 2015

QuickBooks 2016 contains several improvements to the existing ones and new features such as batch transaction, bill tracking, continuous feed label printer support, and batch delete/void transactions etc.
