Goal Improving current system of parking lot management.

Contribution Contribution to this study is to provide whole extensive evidence based on

urban growing, traffic flow increasing and technology development for

implementing innovative services to domestic transportation system with

aim to increase local social wealth, providing a mobile phone application

for real time searching for available parking lot.

Literature review

Urbanization and population growth are conspiring to overwhelm transportation systems around the world (IBM 2010). (1)

Over the last 50 years, Sofia-city had grown three times (NSI 2007)(2)

City government had yearlong problem with improving own system of Parking lot management (September 2012 – problem with SMS payment system) (3)

Since June 2008 (Sofia city government) had been introduced innovative technology for Mobile phone message parking lot payment system (4)

Purpose of this study

In this paper we are looking for solutions for collection data from current Sofia-

city ITS system and real time dissemination of information for available parking

lots via usage of mobile applications. Furthermore we explained the properties of

Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) with using mobile Internet technologies.

Other in this paper we are providing mobile online based application for searching

for available parking lots search by street name. Furthermore we are first who are

tried to implement this system in city of Sofia. Likewise we tried to exclude

deficiency of previous research that was implementing mobile technologies in

intelligent transportation system with usage of SMS payment.

Reducing collusions, pollution, lost working time, traffic jams

for drivers looking for free parking lot significantly will

increase social wealth.

Further study is to upgrade the mobile application including

navigation system to the nearest available parking lot.
