The electrical consumption may be different from one, building or premise, to another one. However, the analysis is made based on average and general usage by the consumer or business operator.

2.1 LIGHTING

In every building and premise, lighting is the main electric appliance been used especially during night time. The lighting systems have several types from traditional tube light to spotlight. The wattage or power of the lighting system is also different such as 8watt up to 100watt for example. What is the QUORUM ™ solution

QUORUM ™ System is an Electric Stabilizer and also known as a mini capacitor bank. It’s a part of the Power Management System which consisting of two modules namely QUORUM™ (Reactive Power Regulator) System and SKOLJD™ System (Intelligent Circuit Breaker). QUORUM™ System is the fourth generation of Power Saver device. -1st Generation: Plug-in System, -2nd Generation: Timer System ,-3rd Generation: Automatic System, -4th Generation: Intelligent System

Knowing the facts about equipment consuming a lot of energy, some business operators try to replace them with green technology and energy saving equipment. However, the price per unit is still high and requires high investments to replace all equipment. This also requires high maintenance in terms of spare parts and services.

2.3 COMPUTER AND ELECTRONICS Nowadays, many business operators depend on computers and electronic equipment to ensure smooth, fast and accurate business transaction. What is “Power Factors”?

- Also called true power. The ratio of true power (watts) to apparent power(Watts) to apparent power (Volt amperes). A relative measure of how well the current waveform

matches the voltage waveform.

- Ideally this ratio should be 1:1 or a power factor of 1 if the apparent power is twice the real power, the ratio would be 1:2 and the power factors would be 0.5

- Weak power factor is another form of system inefficiency that requires all the system components to be large in size.

What causes weak “Power Factors”?

- Weak Power Factors happens when the apparent power to be greater than the real power. This is called displacement power factor.

- It is usually caused by the inductive load and capacitive load such happens in transformer and electrical engine.

Why do we need to correct “Power Factor”?

- If the Power Factors are not being corrected, it means that you are paying more for your monthly electricity bills, for electricity that has not been utilized.

For example, with the power factors of 85% in your premises, only 85% of the electrical energy being utilized. Where as the remaining 15% of the electrical energy remain unused.

- If the power factors is are still not been corrected, it will cause the drop of the voltage due to the loss of power. The drop of voltage is due to the excessive flow of electrical current that will cause ‘overheating’ and damage on the inductive load.

What are the benefits of using the QUORUM™ system?

How to prove savings in your electrical bill?

As stated in the electrical bill, KWH is used to calculate the amount of your usage and billing

-Kwh = power x hour

-Power = voltage x ampere

-Hour = The time of electrical consumption

Thus,

-Kwh = voltage x ampere x hour

The installation of Quorum™ System will cause the ampere reduction while the voltage will not be affected and the hour is depending on the customer consumption. A reduction in ampere will cause a reduction in kwh, therefore will cause SAVINGS in electrical bill.

4.0 COST SAVINGS BY USING QUORUM ™ SYSTEM

Based on the feedback we received from the clients and our clinical lab and field test, we concluded that the average cost savings using QUORUM ™ SYSTEM is between 10 – 30%. The result is different compared to one premise or building to another depending on a couple of factors such as:

a) Type of equipment b) Quantity of equipment c) Operating hours using the equipment d) Indirect factors such as hot temperature which causing air-conditioners’ engine running more. An average 1+ household uses yearly 3.500 kw power costing more then 1.200,= euro per year. A household with two children will increase power usage with more then 25%. The table below shows an indication of cost savings for a client which consumes on electricity an assumable 120 euro per month. The percentage of saving is 10%, 15% and 30% for monthly basis, 12 months and 60 months.

Although, the average cost saving is between 10 – 30%, there are a few cases which the users save up to 40% and even 50%. All these results are caused by the factors that are mentioned above.
