Our Beginning
In 1994, Partners Worldwide was established to respond to the
question:
“How can businesspeople be a part of the
solution to end poverty?”
This question was raised by a group of businesspeople visiting a
community development project in Kenya.
Vision
Business as ministry for a world without
poverty.
Mission
Encourage, equip and connect business and
professional people in global partnerships that
grow enterprises and create sustainable jobs,
transforming the lives of all involved.

PARTNERSHIPS
•We fight poverty through Partnerships that
facilitate Business Mentoring.
•What is a Partners Worldwide Partnership?
A Partners Worldwide Partnership
Local Business Affiliate (LBA)
•An LBA is a group of (Small and Medium
Enterprise) business owners who agree to our
mission, vision and values.
•These local business champions and their
networks care about their communities, know
the business environment, and can build on
local resources.
•The LBA works to reduce poverty by promoting
the growth and development of sustainable
businesses in their community.
Haitian Partners for Christian
Development board of directors
Global Business Affiliate (GBA)
•A GBA is a group of three or more Christian
businesspeople that desires to walk alongside
an LBA.
•Members of a GBA provide business training,
business coaching, encouragement and
prayer support to the LBA.

Worldwide 2010 International Business
Conference, Grand Rapids
Why Partnerships?
•They break the long-standing pattern of “givers” and “receivers”.
•They establish two-way relationships forged for the advancement of
God’s kingdom and the eradication of poverty through job creation.
•They foster ownership, innovation, and cross-cultural dialogue.
•They provide access to knowledge, experience and expertise
(business and technical) that would not otherwise be available.
Loan recipient, Talanta Finance, Uganda
FOUR POINT APPROACH
1. PARTNERSHIPS -- The heart of our work
is the relationships we create. Through our
“Business Affiliate -to-Business Affiliate”
framework for partnership, we link North
American businesspeople with
businesspeople in Africa, Asia, Latin America,
the Caribbean and the U.S.

FOUR POINT APPROACH
2. TRAINING & MENTORING -- We facilitate mentoring relationships that
actively apply the experience and business skills of mentors, matching
the strengths of business with the world’s great needs.
Business training, Gitithia Rural Agro-Finance Group, Kenya
FOUR POINT APPROACH
3. ACCESS TO CAPITAL -- Access to affordable capital is a challenge for
growing businesses. We join with locally established loan institutions to make
capital available to businesses in our partnerships.
Business Seva, Hyderabad, India
FOUR POINT APPROACH
4. ADVOCACY -- Businesspeople in the Partners Worldwide network learn about
the complexity of poverty and development through long-term involvement. As a
result, we feel called to work on and support policies that provide a more level
playing field for business in developing contexts.
Values
The driving force of all our work is that every human being is created in the image
of God. This truth is the foundation of the values we use to shape our work. Our
values are:
