In our proposed model we tried to reduce some of the shortcomings of the presently used wire bending machines in terms ofnoise and cost. It eliminates the noisy sliding cam and lever mechanisms. Rather, it employs an eccentric and slider mechanisms. Theslider (ram) carries a punch of predetermined shape. The punch strikes one of the arms of two dies carrying predetermined size ofwire. The wire is placed on the dies by employing any conventional loading mechanism. The dies can rotate about their respectivefulcrums which are mounted on the base plate of the machine. The striking of the punch causes the dies to rotate. Hence the diescarrying the wire rotates and envelope the punch. In the return stroke the punch enveloped by the wire is brought to its initial position.The wire enveloped on the punch is ejected by any conventional ejection mechanism. The ejected wire acquires the predeterminedshape of the punch. The eccentric is attached to the shaft which can be driven manually or power driven by employing an electricmotor.
